Which MMORPG has the best looking Armour

Hiya all,

I would love to know which MMORPG you think has the best looking armour. My favourite is Dark Age Of Camelot. The worst is easily World of Warcraft. Everyone looks like clowns. Everquest 2 has very dull, boring armour. So let me know what you rate as the best.

The Saga Of Ryzom have the best imo, and the worst Dark Age of Camelot

DAOC has horrible graphics. Not to mention they exploit people's common knowledge and scam with their "trial".

Lineage 2 has the best looking armors no doubt.

I thought we have been through this more than a few times.

Saga of Ryzom. :) Partly for the looks, and partly for the fact that you can mix and match armor pieces / types / qualities / colours / races / etc. freely, enabling unique appearances.

Guild Wars (by far, though they're all "sets", so people see it as less variety...but I'll take looking good over variety any day, particularly when variety means a mismatched crappy looking hodgepodge)

Check this out for example: GW Kurzick Armor

I hate Lineage 2, but they have the best armor I have ever seen. Way better than DAoC and it was my first and favorite MMO.

So in your opinion, DAoC has better looking armor than WoW and EQII? lol, ok then.

I think it is better than WoW's. I'm talking the ToA and Epic armor ofcourse. EQ2's Plate and Chain armor is unimpressive and bland IMO and I play the game.

I wouldn't say GW has the best looking armor.

I'm voting for Lineage II, hands down.

I don't know, maybe it is really a matter of taste, but form the screenshots I've seen (I'll admit I've never played DAoC) the game looks exceptionaly ugly. Have they revamped the graphics since release or something? Every screenshot I've ever seen of DAoC has shown characters wearing armor with little to no texture, and using weapons which imo look like cardboard cutouts. The characters I've seen wearing black outfits looked exceptionaly horrid, practically solid black outlines with a little pink face poking out of them. Maybe I'm missing something, please do correct me if I'm wrong.

You are not wrong. DAOC has ugly graphics. yet they scammed my money through their "trial". No need to make excuses of I didn't pay attention, it is as simple as they are exploiting people's common knowledge that trial will cancel by itself at the end of it.

They updated the graphics with the Catacombs edition, which put's the game on par with modern MMO's. The gameplay still feels old compared to modern MMO's though. Crafted armor doesn't look to good, because it doesn't have any graphic design on them. They just look like whatever they are, such as chain, scale, plate etc. Armor is dyable and because DAoC is a PvP game, people dye their colors to either be tactical, or for guild colors, and of course personal taste. Most that dye their armor black is for tactical (stealth) reasons.

Can you explain more what you mean by scammed? It is a well known fact that Mythic is a great company and has awsome customer service. Most billing issues are the customers fault, because they forgot to cancel. Every time I forgot, I would call them up and they would refund me my money, but I didn't forget often.

It is common knowledge that Trials automatically renew at the end. It even states so when you are signing up. It pays to read things before pressing the accept button.

It is common knowledge that trial automatically cancels at the end. Trial is trial, it has nothing to do with the regular playing until you buy the game and play it for real. They exploited this fact, and doing it completely opposite of all other games. They just start to charge fees at the end of the trial one month after another until you notice.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. This is why they ask you for your credit card information, so that they can charge you once your trial is over. Was this your first trial or something?

EvE, DAoC, EQ2, DDO, and many others all charge you after the first month is over. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure there are any MMO's, aside from SoR that offer a no credit card trial.

But again, even if you didn't know it before hand, it still tells you when you are signing up that you will be charged at the end of the month unless you cancel. If you would have read before pressing the "I accept" button, you wouldn't be spreading false rumors about DAoC right now.

I have played trial of EQ2 and WOW. None charged at the end. Simply the trial account auto cancelled.

I only played Lineage II during open Beta and thought it was too much a grind fest. But a friend of mine played for awhile and I'd have to say that game has the coolest looking armor.

Archlord has the best looking armor. Even better looking than l2's gimp armor.

Time for the hawtness, this is my char btw. (Yes I am a male but if I have to stare at my characters ass all day it might as well be this one.)

Personally I say gw, but there are alot of nice armors out there.

I'm partial to the EQ2 armor on high graphics, but 95% of PCs out there right now will choke, including mine.

Ah yes, but if you had actually READ the conditions before the 14-days ran out, you'd know that they would charge you.
How do you avoid it? Cancel the account from the begining. That way, you'll get 14-days to play, and won't be charged in the end. Calling it a scam? More likely, it's just you that's an retard.

I love DAoC's armor, well.. As much as i saw of it. When my L24 thane got all-chainmail, he looked awesome.. The armor looked realistic, not overdone. L2? Lol, that's not armor. Imagine going to battle, as a female.. Well, with only armor covering.. What, 30? 40% of your body?

I played DAoC for about a year. Yes, it has a very good look. It goes for that realistic look which I also like. L2 is more for "style" or "look" then function I like L2 alot also.....so there.

It all comes down to personal taste.

Eve. My Crusader has the sexiest armor in the game.

    Eve?

There is no armor in Eve and no avatars running around.  Everyone is in a ship. So Eve doesn't even qualify. The closest you have to armor in Eve is a portrait of each player.
