Wireless Internet Help

Alright, here's the problem.

I'm admittedely pretty bad when it comes to computers..in fact I only have a real basic understanding of them.

So, I bought a Satellite A105-S4054 Notebook Laptop a few days ago right?  Well, I can get on the net fine by plugging in my cable modem.  The problem is that I'm going to college..so I'm going to have to use this thing wireless, and I have no idea how to do so.  According to the manual it "features an integrated Wireless 802.11a/b/g LAN connection."  Can anyone tell me what this means, and tell am I going to have to spend even more money on this thing?

well your college should have land lines all over campus.  and depending on the school, there is usually a wireless network set up.  all you have to do is make sure your wireless is turned on, usually theres a little switch clearly visible just below the keyboard.  otherwise it is probably on by default.  when your wireless card picks up a wireless network you'll get a message about whether you want to connect or not.
