I think Burning Crusade will draw thousands away from other games.
Age of Conan should be somewhat popular, due to M rated games not selling well.
Star Trek will fail. So will LotR and Vanguard. Well, maybe not "fail", but they will have unimpressive numbers. Huxley can either do good or bad. Really a toss up.
Spoken like a true WoW Fanboi!
My RL Friend is in the Vanguard Beta and all I can say is stand by for a A$$ beating WoW!!!
Age of Conan looks nice too. Hopefully it will keep the kiddies where they belong (In WoW) and parents need to be held accountable in some way since their kids wont be (or should not be able to) talk them into playing Age of Conan since it has an "M" Rating. Go look it up!
"MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language."
12 yr olds have no business in AoC..Period!
Parents that dont monitor their kids in an MMO (The kids that do and say what they want to others ingame with no remorse or consequenses) need to be punched in the face! lol
Yes, there are adults out there too that act just like the 12 yr olds (I use this age as a general idea). To them all I will say is: Move the out of your parents house! Now! Do it! And then Grow the F up.
Grow the hell up.
I'm a WoW fanboi because I mention the fact that it's expansion is most likely going to be popular? If you can't discuss something a trivial as a VIDEO GAME without insulting the opposition and adopting some pathetic "nerd elitism", then I suggest you not post until you garner the majority to do so. None of your points are worth responding too, so I'll just suggest that you conduct yourself in a manner above that of a 11-year-old if you want to be taken seriously. Good luck friend.
WOW will be unchallenged by the next generation of games, the good ones are appealing to a different audience than WOW, the ones that appeal to the majority of WOW subscribers for the same reasons WOW did are crap (before I get flamed, WAR fits in the first category) Either way, the majority of the 6 million lemmings in WOW will stay there.
Lets take Age Of Conan for example, its using some truly revolutionary concepts, (whoever said someone else had used them before needs to look again). It looks to be a great game in many respects, but it is appealing to a very specific audience. If the devs deliver on their promises, this will in my personal opinion be the best MMO around. But it still would not be succesfull as defined by the OP. They are appealing to mature, casual gamers. The immature and/or hardcore players easily dominate the market

Age of Conan Warhammer Online Pirate of the Burning Sea
Those are just a few I am pretty sure will do well for some time.
Guild Wars will keep making expansions, and people will keep buying them, therefor keeping that game alive and well.
Vanguard has a decent chance, but it will have strong force to compete against -- Everquest 2. Just like Warhammer is going after World of Warcraft, and Pirates of the Burning Sea is going after the EVE market.
One might say that EVE and Pirates aren't the same, but if you stop, take a look at the bigger picture, you'll see that those two are pretty much the same idea, just gift wrapped differently.
As for Age of Conan, I will be the first one to say it's a clone, but aren't ALL MMORPGs a clone of something before them with just a few more things polished or added in? I'm safe to say, yes they all are clones of EQ.
Originally posted by Hadesprime before SOE acquired Vanguard that game had a vision. But you can even see now that its faltering.
That being said I think Pirates of the Burning sea and WAR will be the next big hits.
I'm sort of looking forward to those two, myself. However, I don't let myself look forward too, too much because, because I know they'll all suck. All of them. They always do. Eventually.
What I need is some company to realease a really good game every four to six months... about as long as my attention span is these days. That way, by the time the suckage kicks in... I'm off to happy new MMO land again!

This won't ever happen, will it?
