What is the Adv Class Dragoon?

I beta test FF11 for a little but never got a high level. I heard about an Adv. Class called Dragoon. I know a Dragoon is a Dragon rider. Is that for real? Can a Dragoon ride a dragon and how dose you do it. What class do you need to get high to do it?

A dragoon doesn't ride a dragon but its two hour ability is to have a dragon that follows it around and attacks with it. You only lose it if you die. Another cool thing about dragoons is their jump that is really cool. To be able to be a dragoon you have to be level 30 of anything and go to northern san d'Oria and find Oiheaurese and he will send you on a quest and after you finish the quest you gain the ability to have dragoon as a job. Just so you know most Dragoons sub war and a few sub whm but it doesn't seem like many use it as a sub job since you don't get the two hour ability Called Wyvern. Hope this helps you out.

No, but thats just my opinion I prefer to tank myself and for me I don't think a dragoon would work but it just depends on your preference. I don't beleive there is a bad class in FFXI the job balancing was made well it just depends on each individual player.

A dragoon's wyvern does not only leave his side when the dragoon dies, it also leaves when IT dies. Whenever a dragoon uses a TP skill his wyvern will use a breath attack. Which breath attack it performs is based on the support job of the dragoon. Additionally, the dragoon's jump reduces much of the hate against him and the higher level super jump reduces all of the hate against him. Both are attacks. Also, dragoons are capable of a whole lot of damage, especially later in the game when they get pentuthrust.
