Debate and argument are not bashing.

People have different points of view, this is a fact of life.  One thing that makes forums forums is that they are a place for people to come and express those different points of views and for others to agree or disagree, rebutt, debate, support, etc.  That is what a forum is for.

Lately, I have seen quite a few forum cops (not moderators, more like trolls I suppose) that come into threads and plow them with replies to everyone telling them how they are mean, or shouldn't do this or that.  Not one of their posts will contribute to the discussion topic, either pro or con.

If you are one of these people, and you feel you just can't help yourself, remember this:  when reading forum posts, it's impossible, or at least very difficult, to convey tonality.  Somebody may simply be arguing their side of a discussion with total calm or even friendly banter.  YOU may read that with a totally different tone of voice in your mind and attribute that to one side or the other as "bashing".  Maybe it's not.

There are two people here that regularly do this, and both are NGE fanboys.  No, Obraik is not one of them, hehe.  Typically they insert their twisted logic into the conversation, making it a free-for-all.

I'm not calling anyone out, but some of the poeple that do this are the first to report posts as flaming, disruptive, or whatever.  But, if you go back and look at the threads prior to their first post appearing in it, it is relatively civil.

This is a very constructive post addressing those issues that are not explicit in the TOS.  In fact, I applaud
Temploiter for pointing out what should be very obvious: negative criticisms are not trolling/flamming but
responding to them in an argumenative fashion is.

One thing to keep in mind is, that this forum also has one rule. Yes, only one. It doesn't matter why this rule got made, fact is, it exists. Regardless of how you feel about it, violating it for any reason will result in action, yet some regularly bring up topics in violation of that.

I have no problem with that, but everyone should be clear that action will be taken against that particular topic. I would hope that most will understand why this is so, and why such regulation is one of the mildest possible in any of the SWG related forums.
