    I have to say those graphics are very pleasing and remind me of Diablo in a good way. I am soo all over that action. It looks so much better than third dawn.

    That would buy my 4th re-up.

    Though I really wish they'd bite the bullet and transform the game into a non-isometric 3D game. Leave the world intact...just let me have first-person or third-person.

    My god...look at these morons, the game is dead why wont they just let it rest in peace? The game died when trammle/item insurrance/ AOS was introduced. Just please let this once great masterpeice die please. Theres no more, its over, fini, as far as im concerned mmorpg needs to take it off the site now.

    Only thing that will kill World of warcraft is World of warcraft 2

    Now a Pre UO:R UO with this graphics engine would make this the best mmorpg in history.

    The question is; is this just a new graphical sheen to a game the 'UO vets' would claim is 'dead',or are EA ambitiously attempting to restore the 'classic UO' that some people want? (no,I never played UO)

    EA sure are busy,it seems.

    (I wonder if they ever restored classic UO would it be the same though?)

    I wouldn't mind trying a trial of any such 'classic' server; it'd serve good PvP practice for Darkfall.

    It would not be the same. Not even close. The old PK days are forever dead, since there won't innocents playing FFA PvP game where PKing runs rampant. These golden memories people hold dear are for a time that is forever gone.

    That's such a good move, I'm glad they didn't attempt to make it TOO 3D looking, it's still got taht UO charm we all know and love..

    omg, maybe I should go back to UO?

    I do agree with you to a certain extent. However, I must compliment EA on what looks like a pretty good revamp. They havn't done what I thought they might, and that's turn the game into a 3D wannabe EQ clone. It still has it's original looks, it's just a bit shinier. I can't blaim EA for doing this, it'll surely attract some new punters.

    Just for the record, I still HATE EA.

    They changed it because otherwise the game would lose subscribers. I clearly remember a statement from a developer that playerkillers (like yourself)  make about 3 people QUIT on average. that so called "real game" would have been dead by now if they let the playerkilling continue. yet the game has still over 100k subscribers, so its obviously doing something right.

    the game is not dead. far from it. just because you can't "totally ownz teh nubs and take all the stuff" does not mean the game is dead.

    but you are absolutely right. EVE, a FFA pvp with 100k subscribers is clearly the revolution. where World of Warcraft, a PVE mmo without any kind of ffa pvp of EVE or UO: pre Trammel has 6.5 million subscriber and holds over 50% of the market clearly doesn't show what the majority of mmorpg gamers want. but never mind that, as EVE is clearly the revolution of gaming.

    I am paying for a game, I have fun in the game, had some of the best times in games like WoW and RFO, but I clearly don't enjoy them as they don't have any ffa pvp with full loot so that any high level kiddie can take all my stuff.

    but oh pity, me, the fool, who plays what he enjoys. for I don't gank people and take all their stuff, please, aid me from this non-hardcore pvp kiddie disease!

    yes, I'm following Archlord, a game that actually has a big budget and a CHANCE to survive in mmorpg market, over Darkfall, a game that has been made by 20 developers in greece with a limited budget, who started in the basement as a fan project.
    so no thanks, I'll stick to my "bad games" that I enjoy playing, where you will be in for a dissapointment with darkfall when you will realise the hard truth that you need a big company and a lot of money to create an mmorpg.

    You got it wrong, carebears belong in WoW, not Old school UO

    I knew that when EA announced the cancellation of UO2 and UOX and that they were diverting all resources from the dev team to UO and that they had great things planned.... something like this was coming.

    To be honest im a little bit dissapointed in the quality of the graphics and the forcing of an isometric view. It almost looks to be like their last 3d client update. Too Little Too Late.

    That being said if they bring the classic server type ill still buy the game again.

    A new client is great. Yet unless they actually managed to fix the lag this game suffers from it means nothing. The lag is all on their site as well. You can play the game with specs well above and beyond what the game requires or recommends along with a high speed connection and you still lag in a LOT of cases I've seen. The 3D client they have now is worse then the 2D client. This new one had better be worth it.

    In any case I wish I could try it but I'm up a very seriously no-EA product situation. I refuse to by any EA products, no matter how good the game might seem. I can't in good faith support the company or any of it's products.
