OMFG Best Video Ever (New!!!)

Shows Rivendell, Bree, Dwarf city. Simply the most stunning landscapes i've ever seen in a game. Even better than Oblivion:

Thanks for the link to the video. While I'm not blown away by the graphics, they do look fine and don't take away from the game, I do think they've done a nice job. It doesn't look like they were going for realistic graphics, more of an artistic impression of the lands. Which if memory serves me correct, they did base their design off the original artwork for Lord of the Rings books. The humanoids look very game-typical, not going for realism, just clean looking characters.

    For reference: Oblivion PC Screenshots

Thanks for the link! Gameplay videos are always the best preview to a game without actually playing it. As to the graphics, I think they did an excellent job on them!

geez, what a loaded arguement you are making.  you are using a stress comparison for an MMO which has hundreds if not thousands of players in realtime moving around the same area compaired to a single player game that has npcs moving in preappointed node systems.

few players have systems that could handle an MMO with such highly detailed models and such.  The trees are one of the heaviest burdons on game designers.  Trees are kind of essential in most RPGs.

Thanks for posting this. I'm starved for any new LotRO info these days. The landscape designs definitely rival Oblivion (Rivendell in particular) even if the level of detail doesn't. I don't think Oblivion style graphics are practical in an MMO currently.

I truly hope that wasn't directed at me. I was far from arguing anything. Read my post again only after reading the original post. If it still doesn't click...
