We All Are Ugly And Live In Filth.

EchobeEchobe Member Posts: 262

In our day and age of superficiality, where we are blungeoned with the nigh-impossible, perfect image of what a male or female should look like. I felt compelled to give everyone a reminder.

The truth is, humans are disgusting creatures.

Ever accidently get shit on your hand when using the bathroom? Happen to notice the urine splash that tends to accumulate around the hinges of the toilet seat?

Speaking of doing the business. I bet that if you looked at your butt in a mirror, there would be bits of toilet paper amidst the hair. It probably stinks too.

Did you ever look real close into a mirror at your pores? If you can sort them out from the bumps, pimples, scars, and hair, chances are that it is clogged with dirt. Meaning it's not a pore anymore, it's a blackhead! Weee!

Get a nice clean piece of glass and press your forehead against it, or your cheek. Notice all the funk that comes off on it? Think about that the next time you greet someone with a kiss.

Order a hand tossed pizza. An expert pizza-maker, hand tossing your to-be-food into the air. Sounds good doesn't it? Ever stop to think how much dead skin is coming off his hand and mixing into the dough?

Imagine if you will going grocery shopping. Take a guess as to how many people are farting in the store. You are breathing something that came out of someone else! Not even people you know, but your typical, everyday stranger.

All of the dead skin, loose hair, sweat, tears, blood, snot, eye and nose boogers, pus, urine, feces, digestive gases, and nail clippings could fill buckets within a lifetime.

These are my septic-bits of wisdom for an aesthetic culture. So the next time you guys, and gals especially, are feeling inadequate in the body department. Remember, we are all ugly and live in filth.

Ever watch the show Monk? It's about a Private Investigator with OCD. You remind me of him.

Fancy that. Yeah, I know of that show. Luckily I am not stricken as badly as he is. However, turning the lights on and off a certain number of times, washing my hands, blinking a certain number of times, touching things an even amount of times with either my hands or feet, minor things like that tend to plague me.

Thank goodness I can control it to a point, so I don't degrade to Monk's level of obsession.

What a pleasant chap you are.

When I wake up, I look out my windows and see the deer and the flowers. And everything is serene and beautiful. And I think, another wonderful day in paradise.

Beauty is known as beauty only because there is ugliness.

It's all in the way you look at the whole process.  You're looking at it from a negative perspective.

Instead consider all the things you listed.  They're survival techniques of probably the greatest creation ever.  Our bodies take care of itself in some genius ways.

You have to eliminate food, but did you know that our bodies extract nearly 100% of all the nutrients in food before expelling it?  What's left is pure waste product.  When you look at that poo just consider it an expended battery.  Not to mention it goes right back into the planet to be reused again.  Fertilizer, dude.

And our defensive mechanisms are incredible too.  Once an invader is taken care of, your body gets rid of it.  So look at it as the expulsion of an enemy.

As far as the skin thing, that's just other humans man.  You cuddle with people don't you?  Isn't it nice?  Just look at it as cuddling with all your fellow man.  The ugly ones, the pretty ones, the so so ones.  Actually, I think we're all freaking awesome in our condition.  Look at what we humans have to deal with everyday and I think we tend to handle it pretty well, all things considered.  Snuggle up to us and love us for what we are.

Puhuuu! Stop the whining. Everything is relativ. So people with normal hygeine aren't disgusting unless you have a phobia for such things.

Some advice to the OP, clean your toilet from time to time, learn how to wipe your ass better and get better toilet paper, and wash your face... you'll find that you are a much less filthy creature for doing so.

You guys are totally missing the point. You read the original post and think, "oooh emo emo emo, negative sad sad."

That's what you think. I think that's just the other side of how things are. There's nothing negative about it. You guys are making it out to be something it's not.

In other words, it's way over your head, apparently.

    Read my mind.

How could this happen to the OP?

    He's made his mistakes.

    Got nowhere to run.

The night goes on as he's fading away.

    He's sick of this life.

    He just wants to scream.

How could this happen to the OP?

I must ask the OP though.

"We are all ugly and live in filth"

    In comparison to what?

Unless you know of some people, or specie that do NOT in fact live like that one must assume that we are in fact the most clean and beatiful humans on earth.

No I did not think "EMO", my first thougth was:

"Dear lord, this guy must live a horrible life and is in serious need of some help, fast"

And I do advice you to seek it.

Not trying to be a smartass here, I am sincere.

You are ruining your life, if you can not enjoy it because you are plagued by these thougths then you are missing out.

Because there is no solution to this, it is not even a problem to the waste majority of people, nor is it a health issue, or even a moral one.

Humans excrete, that is what makes us alive, as it is one of the fundamentals to be considered a lifeform.

I bet that even if your conciousness were downloaded into a robot that was placed in wakuum and constantly bombarded with high energy radiotation to kill every living thing youd still not feel clean enough.

And that is worth thinking about.

No you miss the point. Everything is relative. Humans aren't disgusting compared to just about any other living organism in this world.

So you don't think your thoughts are negative? Try reading your post again. Look at the choice of words. You are extremely negative, and if you can't see that, it's seriously because you have a mental disorder or just lack of schooling. I'm serious. No personal attacks. If you zoom in closely on ANYTHING, you see imperfections.

Zoom in on Jessica Simpson's face, you see little creepy crawlies inside the skin, you see flesh slowly decaying and dying.

Doesn't mean she's ugly or lives in filth, it is simply the human condition that everything is imperfect and eventually dies.

You are ruining your life, if you can not enjoy it because you are plagued by these thougths then you are missing out. Again, here is that cynical mindset you, and many others here have. I have no qualms about the statements I made being negative. If you could see past your own petty values of what beauty is, you'd be able to see that my post was quite positive.

Because there is no solution to this, it is not even a problem to the waste majority of people, nor is it a health issue, or even a moral one. Let me try and educate the lesser forms around here.

The very simple concept I was putting forward was that we are all the same. Only the cynical, narrow-minded, frightened types choose to only see the pretty side of things, because they, or I should say in more relative terms, all of you are incapable of comprehending, of accepting the bad with the good.

Your first impulse when encountering something you saw as negative was to insult, to deny, demean, and dismiss. When presented with something outside of your tiny little area of thought, immediately you spurn it.

People like all of you here frown when you see something you think is ugly. You look away, forget, or try to change or force it to be prettier. I on the other hand am able to accept it as part of the whole. Something all of you, in your sheltered, tiny circle of thought cannot do.

When two opposing forces are stretched to their limit, they are seen to be equal. One is blinded by the light as easily as by darkness.

However, I could have perceived you all wrong. Maybe you're all just douche bags, heh.

  • baffbaff Member Posts: 9,457

The reason we only choose to see beauty, or rather look for beauty first, is not that we don't understand the nature of ugliness.

    It's that we prefer beauty.

A coin will always have two sides, but you can chose which side is facing you.

After I go to the toilet, I could look at my poo for a while and proudly pat myself on the back for my ability to withstand revulsion, or I could just flush it and go and do something fun. You chose poo loving, I don't. This is not because I've never seen a poo before and don't know what it is.

    .

It's personal choice. Given the choice of focusing on beauty or ugliness, you chose ugliness. When you focus on something, you feed it's domination over you. You increase the % of time your mental process spends on that subject. I'm no stranger to obsession, but ugliness has never been it's focus.

What a miserable life you must lead.

Beauty is subjective. Go ask someone that associates feces with sexual pleasure about beauty.

Quoting you. "When you focus on something, you feed it's domination over you. You increase the % of time your mental process spends on that subject. I'm no stranger to obsession, but ugliness has never been it's focus."

Is the irony of your statement lost on you? When you focus on something, as you tend to focus on beauty, you increase the percentage of time your mental process spends on that subject.

You're no stranger to obsession you claim. Ugliness can be equated with obsession. So I am curious; are you just typing random words together trying to sound intelligent?

I repeat. You're cynical, and narrow-minded, not to mention incompetent.. The concept I present is completely beyond your feeble mind.

Obviously not. I interpret what your saying. And just because I don't agree with you, doesn't mean I don't know what you're saying.

So you think your thoughts are negative? Actually, that's how you are perceiving my thoughts. You are unable to look past your typical narrow view of what you consider to be "positive."

Yeah that's right. That's how I'm perceiving your thoughts. And I see them as negative. Most of the other people replying to thread see them as negative. If you don't, then it's fine with me. I'd like to see what's negative to you then. You see. Everything is in fact relative. Your thoughts are negative compared to other peoples thoughts. To the general opinion. That makes it negative generally. E.g I like thrash and speed metal. It's faster than most music. I know that. But I don't perceive the music as being really fast. It's just the way I like it. If somebody thinks it's fast then it's not because they are narrow minded or whatever, it's because they have a different taste in music.

Try reading your post again. Look at the choice of words. You are extremely negative, Again, your perception. If you could get past your blinding, cynical, rose-colored views, you'd see that.

Rose-colored? Because my definition of ugly and filth aren't the same as yours doesn't mean my opinion is rose-colored. I think humans are beautiful creatures compared to say dogs or cows. Nothing blinding nor cynical about it. Still my views. At least I know it's my view. Not some fact.

and if you can't see that, it's seriously because you have a mental disorder or just lack of schooling. There is a very interesting pattern forming here. I find it incredibly amusing that those who see something they think to be negative, something they obviously don't understand, they react in a very negative way. Well with the insults and all. My schooling is fine in comparison to yours.

How don't I understand what your saying? It's YOUR views. Not some fact. Remember that. Again, I don't agree with you, and because of that you think I'm ignorant or too stupid to realize that we are filthy creatures even though you should very well know that, that statement is subjective.

I'm serious. No personal attacks. Too late, hypocrite Yeah ok I agree.  If you sincerely can't see it, then I sincerely mean you need help. I sincerely think you're a jack-ass and have zero clue about what you're talking about. At least you stated that this statement was objective here in contrary to your other statements. Give the man a big hand.

But most people seeing life as hell and everything is ugly and blah blah suffer from some disorder. Perhaps you don't. Or you probably don't. It might just be your opinion that is somewhat dark compared to mine.

Yeah you obviously have a problem seeing the good. That's the problem. I see the ugliness in human(mostly through action). That doesn't make me frightened, narrow-minded, cynical or incapable of comprehending. Again, I do comprehend what you mean, what your saying, what your opinion is, but I don't agree.

Your first impulse when encountering something you saw as negative was to insult, to deny, demean, and dismiss. When presented with something outside of your tiny little area of thought, immediately you spurn it.

Your perception of things. We disagree and you think we deny, deman and dismiss it because it was outside our area of thoughts. It's not. We simply disagree and you obviously can't take that.

People like all of you here frown when you see something you think is ugly. You look away, forget, or try to change or force it to be prettier. I on the other hand am able to accept it as part of the whole. Something all of you, in your sheltered, tiny circle of thought cannot do.

No. If something is ugly, then it's ugly. Stop assuming things you know nothing of. I accept beauty and ugliness in life. In your post you only see the bad and ugliness side of humans. You might not be like that IRL, but looking on your statements, it would seem to us that you are extremely negative towards everything, or that you at least think every thing is ugly and filthy.

When two opposing forces are stretched to their limit, they are seen to be equal. One is blinded by the light as easily as by darkness.

    Yeah. Whatever.

However, I could have perceived you all wrong. Maybe you're all just douche bags, heh.

So if you perceived us all wrong, it might just mean with disagree. And if we disagree we are douche bags? Yeah ok.

Look at the title: We all are ugly and live in filth. That's an objective statement. Like saying "Every man is stupid" That's also an objective statement. Both of them are invalid since you can't really make objective statements about subjective topics such as ugliness. If you do that you come off as a narrow-minded cynical ignorant who only see the world in one of it's forms.
