you can post anything not wow on that forum not just vanguard and you will get the same response, they say the same stuff about AOC.
you could have the best graphics in your game and the wow fanboi's at the FOH forums would find something to complain about.
bottom line is no matter what the screeenshots look like those people will never have anything good to say about them because it isn't wow.
you might as well post those screenshots on the wow official forums and see what people think, i don't know why brad even goes there to market his game and provide screenshots just for them, makes no sense to me.
BTW if you want to talk about a bad community look no further than the FOH forums, you say vanguards community is bad? just read some of that garbage those posters say.
i think thats great some of those people hate vanguard, i wouldn't want to play a mmog with people that just attack each other with profanity to get their point across and call it a discussion board anyways.
the only forum that is worse is the official wow forums, but not that much worse.

The game may be in beta 3, but the screenshots in the OP link are from beta 2. Check out some beta 3 screens here.

Thanks for the link - nice screens

The interiours are very nice but the outside world seems a bit plain.
I take it the flame sword looks better animated too.

Hmm I have to admit I'm not very optimistic. I think Vanguard is along the lines of the kind of group-based mentality that I'd prefer in a mmorpg but having seen the latest screenshots at FoH they don't look that good. Also it seems to be underlying the same archetypes again, tank-healer-damage dealer. It is clearly an ambitious title and I'm sure they'll be able to improve and mould it after release, but currently as it stands this I am having my doubts is going to be the mmorpg that will be on everyone's lips to be honest. Like Darkfall, I'll still be watching it but don't think its on the top of my most anticipated list now.

Just FYI

The screens that Brad posted are at medium settings and aren't all fully rendered, Art Department approved screenshot. That is what it would look like if you ran it on medium settings, that is exactly what it would look like.

All of the screens that are normally released of games like Age of Conan, Gods and Heroes, Tabula Rasa and pretty much any game screens released prior to launch are all fully rendered, highest possible settings, optimized, and approved by their Art Department. Those screenshots are the best the game can possibly provide at that point in time. But the problem is.... it'll never look like that on your computer. =/

Given that knowledge, I think they look awesome. I'd be happy to play anything that looks like that on my computer.

Edit: Visuals, on the other hand, if you aren't impressed there is nothing anyone can do except for the Devs adding cooler looking stuff.

I'm not a huge fan of VG but the graphics in the game are great. Though I tend to agree with what I hear as the "vibe" for this game at release and it not doing well at all... Just following their forums gives anyone the outline of how things are and going to be in game.

If you like that type of playstyle, look forward to a pretty game though!

Yeah, I agree the OVF are pretty poopy as of late...there has been a huge influx of new members on their site. The Affliate sites are much more reserved, and I'm hoping that is what the true VG community will be like.

Who really knows what to think....  Obviously there are a number of people who have played beta that are not impressed.  I realize that many of the issues currently plaguing the game will be fixed before launch, but this is still disturbing this far into the project.  I really was hoping that Vanguard would finally be the game to fill the void.

At this point I will wait a few months after release to make sure this is not another Dark & Light.  Once burned, twice the fool...

I'm not really hating on the graphics or anything, but graphics aren't going to make the game for me.

If the beta testers are disappointed, and the game itself is weak, I'm not going to play it, it's that simple. Right now, and pretty much since beta began, I've only heard tales of disappointment.

Vanguard better start getting some positive feedback from the people playing it, and not from the fanboi's who blindly proclaim it to be the best game ever. That's all I have to say about that really.

I agree. We can't judge the finished product on a product already in work. Personally this only has a few of my entrust. (WAR is my thing) Personally I think its not harmful to hope for success.

The game is still under an NDA. Anyone who likes the game and would be likely to give a good review can't do so for fear of losing their account. The only people allowed to speak out about the game to the public right now are those who don't like it (and most of those were from beta 2). From what I hear though, the game took a huge leap forward with beta 3 and has been making constant improvements ever since switching to SOE servers. Not sure how good it will be when it releases, but this doesn't seem to be some stagnant beta like other games have had and it is being updated multiple times a week.
