Someone knows good text-based MMORPG?

Someone knows a good text0based MMORPG? But only fantasy, medievle kinda' things, no gangsters or Sci-Fi...

I thought text-based games were the lowest of the low, but I started playing Imperia Online, and it was fun for half an hour a day.

They need to be free too.

Imperia is fun till people start raiding you with gigantic armies. The game does have alot of otpions however, uneuqally by any other game so I fear to recommend anything to you :)

If you like to raid people and dont care if people try and raid you, then games like Travian, Crusades, or Tribe Wars might be up your alley. You build a village, get troops, upgrade resources, pretty simple and all 3 are very similar.

There;s so many generic ones where you spend energy every day, train stats and do some stuff that I won't go into those.

Unification Wars is probably the best of the bunch out of the space text based games, kind of a steep learning curve compared to other games but hey.

It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

duris.game-host.org  - Check this site out, one of the oldest MUDS around, still has a healthy playerbase, and it has some options that no other MUDS can touch like real time ASCII maps.

www.play.net - Gemstone IV is fun, has over 1000 people online at peak, so is dragonrealms.

Let me know how they go! Good luck!

    Dragonrealms

It costs money every month, and used to have ~1000 players online at peak times, 400-500 other times, was a good game, not sure how it is now.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    the-crusades.org - great game imo, for text-based

renaissancekingdoms.com - non combat game, i like it.

astroempires.com - although space, very good. currently with alpha ver server and beta ver server

empiresofpower.com - newest addition to my visits everyday, seems to be ok. A little bland imo

Imperia is good, but it being reset every few months ticks me off too much.

I didn't play Utopia long enough, but i think it got overly boring.

Unification wars, I think I got killed or something, I was planning on restarting.

I don't think he wants MUD's btw, lots of sites dedicated to those. (yay WoTMUD)

ThresholdRPG has kept me captivated for almost 10 years now. It's a mature audience game (MUD), with RP enforced and harsh death penalty, but well worth your while if you are into that type of thing.

For something a little off-kilter, try Kingdom of Loathing. Most of it is quite silly, and the rest is hysterical. Plus you must swear upon the English language to enter the world chat. No 1337 crap. Plus the in-game currency is Meat.

    oh ya i forgot ...i think it's kingdomofloathing.com

Now I'm wondering while im waiting for WAR to be release could I find a textbased game to get into. =/ I guess ill try the few that been listed and give my thouths
