Avatar combat and release date, read me

DraenorDraenor Member UncommonPosts: 7,918
Avatar combat has been announced as a feature that will be in the game upon launch...the launch date of the game is June 2007, so we can all stop wondering :)

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Again, massively good move for Flying Labs. Leaving avatar combat out of PotBS would be like leaving the magic system out of a fantasy MMO until the first expansion. I may actually play this now.

Here's to listening to your playerbase.

If you think that sounds far away, just think how far away the real release date seems...

It shall be quick and painless. June is only seven months away. This month just flew for me, and school will make it fly even faster. I can't wait.

SWG- Left after they ruined it
    WoW- Left after 2 years
    EVE- Left after three days
Pirates of the Burning Sea will be the cure to my cancer.

Agreed and well said, hehe.  I really wanted to like Eve Online and Auto Assault.  They were both good mmos, but when I realized that I was a ship, or a car, I lost interest pretty quickly.  Once you can play your avatar directly, the game becomes more immersive and just more fun.  Go  Flying Labs!  I'll be there in June (or whenever the game is release, I am in no hurry, I just hope they get it right and don't release a buggy, incomplete mmo).

well imho i think weve been waiting too long for this game, and as you all can see, the hype is diminishing. it looked like a good game when it was announced, but im not so thrilled about it anymore

still i think id eventally play it, if the mmorpg.com stats dont crash like they did with RF :P

Prolly putting in avatar combat because the rest of the game wasn't going to be enough. Oh well.

Probably putting in avatar combat because it'll be awesome and make the game expotentially more dynamic.

OK, so people who were excited about this game a year ago have lost interest in it. Flying Labs has definately screwed up big time with this project. they try to keep people interested by gradually releasing little tidbits at a time hoping that will keep the dumb gamers satisfied. and it hasnt. I was very excited about this game, however, since the game was slated for 2005, and it is alomost 2007 my hopes of this game ever being released have diminished. the developers at FL are incompetent boobs. thats why its taking so long for this game to develop. If they had any idea what they were doing it would have been done when they said it was going to be done. Maybe they shouldnt have even publicly mentioned the game until now so they wouldnt have so many pissed off gamers to deal with. Myself, Im just going to buy Pirates of the carribean, a better game, beter developers and from a reputable company to have the same experience.

Spot on, POTC is a real winner. That's why in all their demo videos they try to hide the game play footage with MTV Cribs style edits between their total crap graphics and shots of the film. FLS is a small team, and small teams have to work longer to get it right. That or they release a steaming pile like Disney is about to. Oh well, enjoy paying $15 a month to Michael Eisner to play as this guy:

Huh. Not that I've seen, but I guess if you count as 'people' that's maybe true. Mostly, I see a whole lot more interest and excitement over the last few months, not less.

the developers at FL are incompetent boobs. thats why its taking so long for this game to
    develop.
Awesome, I'm a 'boob'. Your analysis is astute and spot-on; we sit around with our thumbs up our butts trying to figure out which end of Visual Studio we're supposed to type 'Hello World' into.

If they had any idea what they were doing it would have been done when they said it was going to be done.
Wait, I just had a crazy idea. You think maybe it might be possible that the game has been pushed out so we can release a product that isn't crappy and full of bugs? I know, I know -- this is the MMO industry we're talking about, and that seems pretty farfetched.

Maybe they shouldnt have even publicly mentioned the game until now so they wouldnt have so many pissed off gamers to deal with.
We live in fear of 'pissed off gamers'.

Myself, Im just going to buy Pirates of the carribean, a better game, beter developers and from a reputable company to have the same experience.
Let me know how that works out for you.

1- Java FTW. Visual Basic can shove it.

2- Go right ahead and bash the game folks, fact of the matter is thats its going to be a GOOD game. Not a DECENT game or a CRAPPY game (such as... I dont know... PotC?).

3- Isildur may infact be a 'boob', but this does not detract from the game or the steps that FlyingLabs and its employees are taking to insure that its not a throw-away game.

4- I just realized, you must not have been accepted into the BETA yet and are just angry.

    Dear Developers

I don't think you should have the right to respond in any manner, let alone one both insightful and amusing, when we decide to throw random and unjustified criticism about. It's our right, as shiftless conspiracy-prone layabouts with nothing better to do than read forums (which we all know should be "fora" anyway, because we're so clever).

One would think you actually know what you're talking about better than we do. Pish!

    Signed,

Seriously!  We spent all the development money on ale and whores, anyway, so we don't know a damn thing.
