ya im just saying, i dont liek the whole player vs monster thing, i dont really think it fits into the main lore or anything. I can easily understand player vs enemy.

You want me, or any audience in general, to take anything you say seriously, drop the insults. It's not the way to win over people to your point of view.
Unfortunatly most people don't get that they can get people to take what they have seriously if they don't come off sounding like a retarded, drunken sailor. In all seriousness, it's the reason why there is so much crap going on in the world. We just have to expect it to roll over into gaming and the only thing we can do is /ignore.
"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."
I am willing to bet there are people in beta who read what all of you have to say about this game and are thinking. If they only knew. We have no real idea how big the world is. No way of knowing if monster play will be a big hit or not. The only people who know for sure are the beta testers and they can't talk about it. All of this is just speculation on our parts. Hopes and dreams that we won't know if we are right until we can play the game ourselves.
Originally posted by acidleak unfortunately i have to agree that i also was thinking "how can you go wrong with DnD?"
then ppl say "how can you go wrong with LOTR?"
all i continually see from turbine is this crap - "not at release, will be added at a later date"
DDO freakin started with 10 lvls! they didnt even include half the classes!
so when i see about 1/20th of the tolkien world as a mmo, and they tell me the expansions will be the other 19/20...... what are they working on?
Uh...I'm sorry, but other than Druid and Paladin, which classes did they not start with? Before you answer, please keep in mind that the classes in the Player's Handbook are the only "mandatory" classes in 3.5. Any classes in the DMG or any other book are optional. If you've ever played pencil and paper DnD then I'm sure you've had your DM tell you that they were not allowing this or that. Same thing applied with DnD.
Another thing of note is that Turbine didn't hide anything from the players with their development. If you followed the game pre-launch you knew exactly what they were doing. They even said it is not your typical MMOG and is instead a niche game.
I don't understand why peole try to use the game as a negative. They delivered on what they said they would. Sure, I personally would have preferred an open world to go explore in as that is how I view DnD.
Yes, I agree, there are things like housing I would like in at launch. And mounts. But gees, that doesn't mean the game automatically sucks. If anything I'm glad they are at least planning to put them in. *shrug*

I've played DnD for 12 years. Love the game, it's fantastic and fun. But DDO sucks. The gameplay is horrible. You're forced to group. Character customization is extremely limited. You don't actually go anywhere other than dungeon after dungeon. There's a whole world to explore, not just dungeons.
As for this game, I like the fact that they have monster play. I'm vehemently against PvP but even I find MP to be an acceptable alternative that will prevent alot of the problems inherent in traditional PvP.
No Rangers and Wizards are also good things. Rangers are equivelent to SWG's Jedi and Wizards are angels sent from heaven to help the free peoples of Middle Earth. Both are far too powerful for the game and are extremely rare. Lore doesn't justify inclusion of these classes and I'm here to play Lord of the Rings, not WoW in an LOTR wrapper.

Which FF Character Are You?

feathered with one of the eagle''s own plumes. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction
