What they discussed was the press release from Farlan/NP3 that said they knew they released the game unfinished. They concentrated mostly on the company blaming the fans for pressuring them to release it without being completed. Their view was that no matter what the reasons, you don’t treat a customer that way, blaming them for your failures.
One of them likened it to Coke releasing soda pop before the formula was complete because people wanted to taste it, then blaming the people when nobody likes it.
To sum it up, They thought Farlan/NP3 treated their customers like crap, and that is their biggest reason for their lack of success.

The good old classic "it wasn't our fault syndrome".
Bottom line is that the company is all ego and no talent. Bunch of guys who might be good modders but don't have the organizational ability to be Devs. Nothing against modders, but to develop from scratch takes a good team with not just a vision, but also a plan.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate this comedic gem.
How many "fans" did D&L still have before they released? I thought the game had been abandoned in droves after SoG went out. What kind of "pressure" could there have been from a small handful of blindly faithful followers?
They claim they were faced with this choice:
to release an unfinished game early to please a small handful of incredibly dedicated fans who have stuck with the game despite all of the signs it was going to be a dud and who would probably stick with the game no matter what they did; or
to not release the game until it's finished in the interest of having even the remotest chance that anyone other than those small handful of incredibly dedicated fans would ever play the game.
They chose 1, to sacrifice any hope of anyone else taking the game seriously in order to hold onto their small but dedicated fan base, then they turned around and attacked them.
Hehehe. I agree with you green. But what I find most funny is who pressured them into the original release date. They had an original release date and pushed it back at least three times. Did they find someone to blame(besides themselves) for that? I mean come on, they were working on the game for five years and reached their original release date, said oops! not done! Reached second date, said oops! not done! and so on. Why didn't they say after the original release date, "This thing isn't close to being done!" Let's push it back another year. Instead they push it back 2 months,3 months and then 1 month! Then say it was incomplete and the fault of the fans...
Whoever it was above that said they are arrogant fools was absolutely 100% correct!!!
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
1) A gullible greedy producer with lots of money who is "not playing with a full deck".
2) A group of programmers (aka developers) who, for lack of a better term can only be described collectively as "not the sharpest knives in the drawer".
3) And lastly, a project lead with delusions of Grandure (who's name starts with V).
Combine all those together and you get a critical mass of stupidity which results in a thermonuclear detonation...the result of which is DnL.

Sounds like the promo for a good old-fashioned slapstick comedy movie.

LOL! Yeah, I forgot to add the stupiity factor into my equations. Linear thinking resulting from living in the boonies I guess. If they did make a movie like that what would be called green? Perhaps the topic for a new thread.
I'm going with "DISTRACT AND LIFT" an offbeat and comical story of online ineptness and theivery! Watch the lighthearted frolicings of a youthful mmo gaming company as they spin a web of deciept and villany and steal money from unsuspecting fools!!! Rent it today at your local Family Video!!!

I boggle to think what their next trick will be.
