Hello, there's still ppl playing this game.
(EU version) You can do a digital download from dlgamer.com or on http://camelot-europe.goa.com/en/

Mastersummon I see you're from Canada so I can't really comment on us servers, but in Europe the number of players is slowly diminishing. I did a /who 1- 50 on Albion and came up with 110 players. 63 level 50's and only 2 level 1- 10's. This was on Glastonbury with a mean population of 450 players, with the most popular being a German server called Avalon with a mean of 1000. I am no hate boy of DAoC in any way, but the signs of player decrease in Euope is evident.
PS: can any one comment on the situation on the US servers. please? I'd like to know.
Well Glastonbury is far worse off then the english cluster. Right now on pry-exc there is almost 1200 online. /who Mid shows 313, /who nf shows 129 and who 50 shows 212. I dont have a problem with the population atm.
The situasion on the US classic server is also nowhere near Glaston. The other servers are also doing better then the EU ones. According to camelot-herald there is over 1800 online on Gareth atm, on 3 of the clusers there is about 1500 online (Caerleon cluster, Devon cluster and Kilibury cluster) and over 1000 on the 4th. Also keep in mind its not peak time there atm.
Also fyi, atm there is 1656 online on Avalon, 1349 on Stonehenge, 1102 on Lyonesse, 984 on Dartmoor etc. I guess some of theese servers are clusered also, so the situasion is no where as grim as you portrait it.
On a cluster the PvE areas are separate (e.g. each cluster node has it's own classic world area, ToA zone, SI zone), but you can port to the area of another cluster.. the RvR areas are always shared (only 1 NF, Thidranki, ...)
The Camelot Herald shows the exact number of players on each cluster/server:
