They all have pluses and minuses...fly speed just got an end break and things like swift and quickness now effect them. I like superspeed myself but that is just me.
Speed advantage from fastest to slowest Teleport Self>Super Speed>Super Jump>Flight
Endurance use from most to least Teleport Self>Flight>Super Speed>Super Jump
Teleport gets around issues when you are rooted, but also takes the most to get use to. You can only teleport line of sight, so unless you rotate the camera, you can't teleport behind a wall. Death can happen when you hit lag if you are to high up and fall into a mob. I only used Teleport outside when I'm going between missions. In a mission, I don't use it as much. It is the most fun in my opinion but not good for scouting as you can TP into a group before you see them.
Super Jump is my fun and you always want to say "boing, boing" jumping buildings. Low End usage and I used it between missions and in missions to get around.
Super Speed before Supression was great for jousting. Hitting a mob then running away before they could react. After Supression, it's still a great power to get around. Big disadvantage; no vertical travel. Advantage, you can run through a mob and if you don't attack, just keep running.
Flight is a fun one also, just not the fastest. Great for PVP, since your not restricted to the ground and you can hover shoot things from a distance.
I rate Teleport Self as one of my favorites. Followed by Flight then Super Jump and finally Super Speed. I liked them all though.
your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't
It really depends..if you want PvP go teleport or fly but if your just fooling around go jump (personally i hate jump) SS is good for both, but sucks in places like faultline and hollows and creys
I think fly is the slowest I know as a fact its slower than super jump because I always get ahead of people who fly when going to a mission in groups even if they get a head start.
I personally always liked hover/fly. I rarely played my scrappers or tanks and since most mobs can't fly, hover effectively kept me out of melee.
The speed increase on flight at higher levels is pretty good. At lower levels flight is pretty slow, and you'll often be the last to reach missions. At higher levels that's not such an issue.
Superjump is lots of fun. I always took inertial reduction on my kinetics toons and enjoyed bouncing around.
Superspeed I only tried on a few toons. It is fast, but with no vertical lift I don't like it.
Teleport is very cool. Google the macro for it if you take it - so you can simply point and fire it. It can be truly painful to use without the macro. If you've an extra power to spare hover can help with teleport too, but if you're using the macro hover is not essential. Bonus of teleport is it lets you escape powers like eg. caltrops. Downside is because of line of sight it's not so great as an escape power inside most missions - but still not useless.
If I could, I always took 3 of these 4 if I had room in my build : Teleport Friend, Teleport, Hover, Fly.
I had a slight preference for flight over teleport. I normally played controllers or defenders and found flight more useful. Particularly in eg. cave missions, teams can get spread out a bit and you'll often lose line of sight, see someone's in trouble and need to get to them quickly. Flight was always good for that.
I personally prefer Swift with some good Ennys and Jump. With the increased speed you actualy have a faster foward arch on your Jumps. Meaning you can make some seriously hop FAST! I was beating Flyers and runners in sheer speed with some good timing later on in the leveling. Not to mention with jump you can have some awesome races...
I think the answer should be what fits your character the best. The next would be, what fits you the best.
I think it depends on the game.
CoH I perfer Super Jump, Super Speed, Fly, TP
CoV I prefer Fly, Super Jump, Super Speed, TP
Yes, I hate Teleport!
Also, with the temp powers from Mayhem missions is CoV and the fact you have a lot less zoning, I would debate that movement powers are not as critical. Also, the drawbacks of Super Speed are a lot less since you can save the Jump Pack for the few times you really need that jump or one of the jet packs you can get in the game.
