. I disagree. AC2 was not a BAD game. AC2s downfall was a result of mismanagement and poor judgment. Hmmm sound familiar?
I agree with AzRaell33 on all points. I wanted DDO to actually be something worthy of the D&D moniker. Unfortunately, imho, it's not. Someone else out there will realize the true potential of a first-class D&D mmo and they will make a fortune for years just off that one game. That company is not, and never will be, Turbine.

World of Warcraft was recently dropped from $49.99 to $19.99 everywhere, not just at a few outlets. It's a shame to hear Blizzard is going to pull the plug.

Blizzard can say they have 7 million subscribers. Therefore it's safe to assume they have more than made their money and are doing it just to get a few more subscribers at a reasonable price. They are not losing money with their price drop. Turbine and DDO is a whole different story. They can't keep subscribers. They've had a trial from the beginning that should have netted them a nice chunk of the D&D playerbase out there plus non-D&D as well, if it was a good enough game. It didn't and it's not. You think they pushed to sell AC1 through Direct2Drive just because they wanted to renew interest in an old game? No. They are trying to sell enough AC1 accounts to make up for the financial loss of DDO. And yes, if LOTR flops, I guarantee the only game left standing will be AC1 until they finally shut it down due to bankruptcy.
