Re-installing the game

Ive gone down this road a couple times... I just inventoried my game CD's and found I had the original DAoC, the platinum edition and also the Epic Edition.

so being lured by the flashy graphics on the boxes, flipping through the manuals and realizing the game is only 12.95 a month.. im deciding to come back

Im looking for a roleplaying server that has a good population (heavy population).  Not sure what class I will play.. so I guess now I am looking for some server recommendations that is heavy with PvP politics and roleplay.

thoughts?

Let me start off by saying that the servers can only hold 3k people each. The Classic server, which is the newest addition to the game, has at times over 2k people. You can go to camelotherald.com and look for yourself on what the server populations are during the times you play.

There is only a few RPing servers and they are under the same Cluster. A Cluster is a x number of servers that have been combined due to low populations. So a Cluster is essentially one big server. The servers should be labeled as RPing server, so it should be apparent to you when you go to check the populations.

But I'm not sure what games you come from, but on this game there has been several expansions that have spread the community thin. So running across another person on any of the servers might be rare. The world is simply too big for the population the game has now. You're most likely to find people RvRing or around TD's, which are instances where you can level fastly.

Your best bet is to forgoe the RPing requirement like I did, so that you have a community to associate with and play on the Classic server Gareth. There you can find people of all level ranges and the server won't feel empty. People will still be going to TD's mostly though, so you will have to go to where the TD's are if you want a good chance to find a group.

As for guilds, just keep you eyes open for guild names above peoples head. If you see a lot of the same guild name above peoples head, try to join their group and get to know the people. If they are your type of people, than see about joining their guild.
