Important business news!

Well, like the title says, this thread is about important business news... Now I doubt anyone clicked on that title expecting to actually hear any important business news, because this is after all a forum, and 50% of the posts on here are never what the title claims to be. The other 50%  are generally made up of people poking fun and such like. This is what I'd like none of in this thread please (though clearly, saying that just makes me a prime target ^^). Can we be mature this time please? I could use some assistance.

Now though I have no important business news to tell you, I'm actually asking you all to tell me important business news. I have an essay due in for the start of term for my Business Studies class to write about any important news in business. What I'm asking for though, is something important, but also interesting! I have to present the essay to the class, and would actually like it to be vaguely interesting for them rather than "Britain's interest rates are up 0.25%... This happens because... This is good for us because... This is bad for us because... In the future it is likely that..."

So here's the criteria:

    Important (to at least one element of business)

    Interesting!!!

    And of course, recent.

Anyone got any ideas?
