60 Beta keys not Claimed by 24 hour deadline

Winners will be required to respond within 24 hours to claim their prize. If after this time no names have been confirmed, we will disqualify remaining tickets and select the remaining winners by a method of our choosing.

So, Wonder What the method will be?

Because so many girlscouts screamed foul, in the last 24 hours, over who got chosen and how they got chosen - Turbine has requested the unclaimed keys back;  They dont want all these sissy bad-sports playing in their beta.

Well i claimed my key as soon as they got the claim link fixed yesterday. Don't know why anyone wouldn't claim their key unless they forgot about the contest and went on a trip for the end of summer.

Now all those of us who did claim our beta key need to do is be paitent and wait for beta to start. Wonder when they will send us the e-mail with the code and instructions.

Im waiting patiently-  Have not found anything definitive, on these or the LoTR boards, about when beta begins.

When I got the email this morning I was excited! I was hoping it started today lol =/

When i got my e-mail last night and tried to claim the beta key and there was an error were it was only taking the forst ten to confirm i almost threw my pc out the window. All i could think is i win a beta key and i can't claim it.

Luckily MMORPG.com fixed the problem before i sent my pc on a one way trip from the second story window.

I'm curious about the second drawing, too.  There are a lot of unclaimed slots, more than I expected.  I figured there would be, at most, 10 slots left unclaimed. 

Looks like some people don't want it as much as the rest of us.

strange. its 9:50 and it still says pending. doesnt it say something like disqualified or unclaimed after the 24 hour mark

Maybe they are giving the last 60 folks one more final hour to login and claim.  I coulda sworn that it was at 141 about 30 mins ago and now the total claimed is at 142.  So someone musta gotten in past the deadline.


Time for some tough love, MMORPG.com!  Cut 'em off and give the rest of us another shot. ;-)

I've yet to ever notice them actually do a re-draw after the 24 hour period.  I just figured it was their way of trying to light a fire under the rears of the winners.

That's not to say it's never happened, but I personally have never seen them actually enforce that rule - though I think that because they state it, that they should uphold it (but then I'm biased in hoping I might get picked on a re-draw as well ).

We are just getting ready for the #2 drawing.  We gave an extra hour because we had a technical difficulty yesterday that kept people from claiming for about 60 minutes after the drawing.

Good luck to you all...

(and for the record we almost always have to redraw, if not many times.  It is rare that all prizes get claimed the first round)

That's cool, meant no offense or anything.  Just saying that I'd never actually noticed it happen before.   You just must not make it obvious when you do so then.

Yes i coulnd't believe he would pm me and ask if i was planning on using my beta key when i claimed it. Of course i plan on using it i been waiting for this game for  around 3 years. LOL

Don't give up hope yet there is still over 50 unclaimed and it just might end up being they do a third round picking.

I know I have been watching the site and was looking for an email or the list at 9pm on the dot, and was disappointed, oh well, still a hope i suppose.

I know, that is the only thing that is keeping my hopes alive.  Looks like only 5 have been claimed since the names went up.  That's a lot slower than it was last night.


Congrats on your key!  Be sure to send in lots of feedback to make sure crafting isn't an epic test of patience and will power, just incase I don't get in to do it.

Im sure the crafting will be just like in EQ or something like that. Also congrats to those who got a key for the game. Make sure you do a great job at finding all the bugs and problems you can!! We need a new better game to play than those that are out. Allso, LoTR is great. :-D
