Is Zerg Lag got you down?
Huge battles raping your computer?

check this fix i found on the planetside forums
it works damn well

In order to make it work you need to manually edit the settings in engine3d_options.ini in your PS directory.

I've found good results with the following:

anim_cull_default true # Enable optimization to process animations at a lower rate past a set of threshold values
anim_cull_count 16 # Number of far anims that can be processed at high fidelity per frame.
anim_cull_distance 1.00 # Minimum distance before an animation can be culled.
anim_cull_time 0.90 # Anim step fidelity, controls how choppy the low-fidelity

Whenever your frames drop < 40 fps it goes to town.

Alright and if you want to see the original source

Nice post. THnx for the info. Before I upgraded to Nvidia GeForce 7950GX2 (I had GeForce 6600GT) I had to tone down all graphic settings in order to play without much lag in huge battles at max resolution ( I just like when i have a large viewable screen, I try to play at 1280x1024). So I also tried to find some ways to increase FPS (other then changing graphic's settings). There are undocumented ways to increase FPS like the OP posted. But if you can, upgrade your vidcard, PS looks realy cool at high settings in large battles. Highres texture to the max!!!

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
