I am confused .... Everyone complains about the grind ..... Ahhh Call me crazy but do not all the games have a grind, ok some are better than others but really folks ...... Why complain about something that is part of all the games out there ..... better off why not complain that all the games have devs or that they all have graphics that you do not like ....

Face it people complaing about the grind in a MMORPG is like complaining you had to pay sales tax on an item you just bought.

Most of the games have some grind to a degree. The problem lies when the game IS grind. Created to keep the un-creative masses minds occupied.

that doesn't take away Grind is (most of the time, not always) a bad thing. and it really should be improved, if its standard or not.

The nature of mmorpg means grind in one form or the other.

Be it grind your skills by hitting a sparring board or a mob or gain level by doing same.

So i laugh when people say oh this mmorpg has no grind they all do!

The question is how hard is the grind and is it fun.

Take UO in the old days ,you could go to a dungeon and become part of a "wall".This was basically a group of players who come to a certain part of a dungeon at a door and just body block it and bash at the mob as they aggro and come to the wall.Here you could raise all combat skills,healing and magic quite fast(healers healed damaged players).I recall i gmed 5 or so skills in 5 days section of 2-3 hrs(with some afk too!).

It was an easy grind but not much fun and nothing memorable .But it was fast!

Then i recall EQ1 back in 2000 or so when i was i hit level 42 in a mad karnor's castle group who was chain pulling and getting mobs from deep inside and causing massive trains.I played 12 hr straight with this group and it was heck of a lot of adrenaline.I remember it till today quite clearly.But while fun it was a terribly slow grind and it was so slow that sometimes it was actually painful.

I think like many others i be happy to have a maxed out character at char creation but fact remains if there is no grind then people will never repeat an action twice(in grind ppl will hunt or repeat an action many times on something that gives most exp).

This means the devs have to be very fast with content .
