PVP : A Way of Life

Many of you are probably wondering why there are so many Carebear vs PVP threads on this site.

It's simple.

In the PVP world what we're doing is called smacktalk or simply "smack." It's a social form of PVP game that is played on forums for entertainment.

PVP isn't a type of game.

It is a fight club mindset. A personal protest against pussification.

I don't need a PVP game to PVP, I can PVP with a phone, a message board, in a car when I race someone on the highway.

I don't care what the consequences are. I don't live by your rules. The customer service rep is nobody to me. I will tell him "Yes GM, I will stop my behavior immediately" and go right back to doing it, my cooperation was simply an act of social engineering.

Avoiding punishment is a PVP game in itself, between those who enforce the rules and those who break them.

I'll tell you guys a secret.

Eve isn't that great a game. It's aight, but fairly mediocre. I play it, because it keeps me sharp. it's like a whetstone for your brain, keeps you razor sharp and on your toes, you learn very quickly about the greedy nature of humans, and what makes people tick. You learn to spot spies and conmen. You learn never to take anyone at face value. EVERYBODY has an angle, EVERYBODY.

If you find an honest soul in this life that you connect with, treat them like GOLD because that's what they are. When I say honest soul, I don't mean they're gullible IE honest with everybody. No. Honest with each other. Partners in crime.

A hooker makes a better friend than your wife. They both pretty much function the same way, except that the hooker is honest.

Mate, I look up to you. really, you are amazing. the way you just kill people like that in GAMES is just simply amazing.

I think its great how you consider PVP a way of life. I mean, it all happens in a GAME, but you kill virtual characters, pixels, and you ignore ingame rules that are made by people you pay 15$ a month for. you actually consider it a way of life, because you are tough, you are strong, you are a MAN!

Honnestly, I look up to you. I wish I could be like you.

So, since PVPing is your 'way of life', I'm wondering, what would you do if there weren't any games at all?

    Awesome...

my absolute favorite definition of PVP ever

    "A personal protest against pussification."

never have truer words been spoken my friend....

Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.

This is hilarious, what a load of horse hockey, Im not sure who you are trying to convince with your tough act, but its backwards. If you really want to feel like a badass, go out and try some MMA fighting, take a punch square in the jaw, shake it off, and return fire. Thats true strength of character and will, not how quick your fingers are on a keyboard.

Damn straight.  You want a real fight, they are waiting out there for you.  If you are good you might even make some money.  These are just games.  PvPers who think they are hard crack me up.  I like PvP, I like cutthroat PvP, but its just pretend.

I just got back from my ROTC class and my SGT was telling us about the time he took his sniper team out on a recon mission and was sitting on top of an Insurgant building sending intel back while they were all around him.

I think it's very, very sad that a 35 year old man (allegedly) thinks the way fizzle322 thinks.  They sound like the words of a very lonely boy and not an (allegedly) grown man.  Sheesh.  What sort of pathetic existance is it when  you consider wives to be nothing more than dishonest hookers?  The reason I think it's so sad is because it's so obvious that no one has ever liked, let alone loved, this pitiful human being.

Personally, I would not want a person who thinks this way to be defending me or my country.  I certainly hope the military screens people enough to recognise when someone is so obviously sick.

Get some professional help, fizzle322.  Seriously.

Have you read any of his other post?  I use to think fizzle was pretty normal.  Lately though I'm starting to wonder if he had a nervous breakdown or something.  If anything it's pretty sad that he thinks "PvPing in a game" is a way of life.   I feel really sorry for fizzle, if this is how he truly thinks.  Might be time for you to stop gaming, as it seems you have a strange addiction to it.

Fun post. Yeah, you pretty much just defined competition.

A hooker is better than a wife? I suppose that in >= 60% of the cases, you're absolutely right.

Keep up the noble savage attitude, I guess?

You're just another ant in the farm.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

  • Ya' know, I could never bring myself to gank anyone...I've never really been the type that can do that. I always figure that people work to build up their character and even come to love the thing...

I don't know...live and let live I guess. Maybe that's why I always have like a million names on my friends list.

Something else to consider...at least 1% of the worlds population are psychopaths and another 3% are outright assholes...

So, statistically speaking, WoW has about 70,000 psychos and another 210,000 assholes runnin' around in it!

Smack talk and all that goes along with your "lifestyle" is considered immature and uncivil in the society of the United States. Why would a person aspire to be that way is what I want to know. That kind of mentality is on par with a 16 yr old child. Just isn't attractive in the real world.

I was in the infantry in the Marine Corps and the Marines along with the Air Force have the hardest screening criteria out there. You pretty much have to be perfect. He would have made it through fine with that mentality, but he would have not made it far in the Infantry. People would have called him out on tangents like these and fought him. This is after they hazed the shit of him for being a "boot" (aka noob) in the Infantry, even though hazing is illegal. He probably would have cried at the unfairness of the Marine Corps and would have cried at having to hike 15 miles in the middle of the night without sleep and then stand around in a freshly dug fighting hole that took several hours to make and then got filled in with water from an icy cold rain storm without any cold weather gear.

Yeah, people like him are all talk. People who are badass have no reason to boast it on a video game forum, they are comfortable knowing they are to themselves.

What can you do married that you can't do unmarried?

Money. Thats what marriage means. It's a legal basis for sharing household wealth.

You could be someone's girlfriend forever. Why wouldn't you do that?

Is it because you deserve a share of the wealth for services rendered?

You pay a hooker after sex. You pay a wife after marriage.

Either way you're paying for it.

You sound like such a silly little man that I can't possibly take you seriously anymore.   What a wee narrow mind you seem to have.  You don't even see the possibility that women could make more money than men.  You seem stuck in 1950.  I'm surprised you have a computer, although the obvious lack of intellect or a life doesn't surprise me a bit.
