Some questions I didn't find asked in other threads

Just wondering about the initial level cap, what will it be, looking around it seems like it may be 30, but I was not sure.  Mounts?!?!?! I have not seen anything about them, but with the games initial small size they may not be needed.  I see that people can make tribes, but will there be overall factions like in WoW, a Horde and Alliance type deal, and if not will there be user initiated tribe wars???  Mutiple characters on one account, no extra charge?? It is a p2p game, and several of them let you have more characters at no extra charge.  Also, how many servers will there be to start with?? There seems to be alot of hype, and alot of people into the game already, will there be few servers causing highly populated worlds, or will there be enough so it wont be cramped with players??

Those are just some that I did not find completely answered, or asked, in other threads.  Feel free to put in more questions.

Another question, I realize that it will be a P2P game, but how much?? and initial cost will probably be similar to other MMO's anywhere between $30-$50

drew89 - Hi. I'm glad to answer your questions but I wanted to also tel you that you can also go to the boards on the G&H website as there is a Community FAQ that answers a lot of these and points directly to the developer posts on them.  :)  www.godsandheroes.com

I think the level cap is 50 right now though I'm not really certain as the game is pre-beta still.

There will be mounts in the game, though there is some question on whether or not they will be in at launch or as part of an update.  Mounts are really just a run-speed buff with a cool animation (being on the mount) so it is not essential to gameplay.  Still, EVERYONE seems to want mounts, so it is just something you have to do in a modern MMO and I hope they crank them out fast or people will NEVER stop asking.  We do know that there will be fast travel methods in the game at launch (one of them being a mythical beast - they won't say which just yet) so that getting together with your friends is not a chore.

On factions - yes, there will be - actually NATIONS.  Gods & Heroes will have two teams when the game launches.  One of them will be the live team that does normal content additions like those you see for WoW and CoH.  They'll be adding content on a regular basis and keeping the game running well, etc.  The other will be working on new expansions to the game that will add in new nations with entirely new classes and pantheons.  So the first expansion might be for the Norse pantheon and they'll then add in Nation vs. Nation combat between Norseman and Romans.  Additional expansions will open up even more new nations to play.

Tribe vs. Tribe - They want to do this by launch but the details are sketchy.  It would be silly to just make it a PvP flag that you just turn on and off because people are already playing on PvP servers where the flag is always on, or they are playing on Normal servers where people only want to opt-in to PvP, so if they do Tribe vs. Tribe it should really be like the GvG in Guild Wars where the sides are even and you can see a definite winner at the end of the match, track results between tribes, and actually gain real status from it instead of using it as a way to open up limitied PvP. . .   so I don't know how this will work yet, but they've stated that they definitely want it.  One of the things that PE is very intent about is not adding in systems just to add them in and have another bullet point on the back of the box.  Thus I suspect that if they add this, they will do it with a full system like Guild War's GvG and not some tacked on PvP flag silliness.

Multiple characters - yes.  Right now the amount they are thinking to go with for each is 8.  No charge.

Starting Servers - We don't know.  They will most likely gauge prospective sales based on preorders and plan accordingly.  There are a bunch of MMO veterans working at PE, so I don't think we'll run into a situation like Blizzard ran into where the game was far too successful too fast.  PE will most probably plan their scalability for the even that they are obnoxiously successful.

I hope this helps.  Oh, btw, if you register on the G&H forums and are an active and constructive poster, there is a chance you could be selected for beta when it starts, so you might want to post over there too.

Incorrect sir.  There will not be nations at release!  Instead there will be rome with what AI mobs to fight?  Ohh I forgot the Romans were a peaceful people.  At least until a few months (years ;) ) later when the first expansion (yea they are going to charge for PvP!) hits.  So basicly to get 2/3 of DAoC you will have to spend close to $100 and wait!

Do you read whole posts, or just enough to disagree with them?  :)

The information that they will not be in at release is within my post.

What is it with you Shadowbane rejects and hating on games that dont have PvP in at release?
Dont you think that seeing how things are in a live enviroment before trying to balance for PvP is a good idea? Are you just trying to create more 'carebears'?

A bit off topic, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge the shadowbane folks. I tried the game and it wasn't my cup of tea. But I found the community overall to be peaceable in the official forums. They were quite helpful and on average, mature.

dink, nice (1st) post with lots of good information.

    so...
