How to stop immature kids from playing mmorpgs? I've done a study on this topic for a month, since my girlfriend is grouned because I was caught by her parents with my pants down in her room. So since I had nothing to do and getting drunk and high with my friends gets old i decided to study this topic. So i've played about dozens of mmorpgs with the free trial thing and other free mmorpgs or low paying MMORPGS.

The Results

FREE MMORPGS OR LOW BUDGET MMORPGS- A lot of immature kids.

REGULAR $15 DOLLARS A MONTH MMORPGS- Less immature kids, depends on mmorpg

COMPLEX GAME- Less immature kids

NON-COMPLEX GAME- Tons of immature kids

POPULAR GAME- A lot more immature kids

NON-POPULAR GAME- Less immature kids


The 3 Factors for determing how many immature kids are in the mmorpg are PRICE, DIFFICULTY, POPULARITY

Conclusion: Kids want a Free or even a low budget, easy, and popular game. The reason why is because Kids have no money, there to lazy to learn, and kids usually lilke getting popular things so they can gloat to other kids that they have that game, thus brining in more immature kids. If a mmorpg has 2 of these factors(Low budget, easy, and popular) there is a high possibilty that there will be tons of immature kids. Ex: WoW, its a popular game and its easy thus making the community immature. AO is a non-popular game at least to the kids, Complex, Free(Original Version) and if u upgrade $15 dollars, it has only 1 factor and theres not a lot of immature kids.


Solution: Its pretty much right out there. Make a game thats Complex and High Budget. Of course u want the game to be popular but if it only has 1 thing out of all the factors not a lot of immature kids are going to join the game

    Your theory is flawed though. If kids are looking for a popular game, then what about all the mature players who play the popular game? I mean, everyone is looking for a popular game it just happens that popularity brings all sorts of different players, it does not nessisarily attract immature players.

    Actually it these factors don't include just immature kids it could work for the mature mmorpg player, Kids dont' like unpopular things, they always want the best, even though i don't think its true, Kids there logic is "Popular=The best"

    Immature kids aren't really a problem unless you're a socializer and get pissed in chat too easily. Join a guild and use ventrilo or something.

    If you're whining about immature kids killing you in pvp, that's your fault, get better.

    What exactly are the "immature kids" doing that's pissing you off?

    Anyway, back to topic. One way of getting rid off large number of kiddies is make the monthly cost only through credit card (no game cards or PayPal). Sure, some parents dont care how they cost their kids hobbies but many do.

    Or just kill the parents. That goes to both problems.

    Easiest way to stop kids is to have a MMO license

    It can be acquired the same way as a drivers license but you need it to play online, and if you are found to be a complete moron the license is revoked.

    If someone uses your MMO license and you know they are the license is still revoked and its tough sh*t for you.

    If someone uses your MMO license and you don't know they are the license is still revoked, learn2hideURstuff.

    While I would enjoy WoW more if I could play as a Goblin Corporate Raider which would require a Masters in Economics to play, it won't happen.

    I agree with the OP, the more the complicated the game, the more immature the playerbase.

    I have found that even Barrens chat has died down on the servers I play on. I just don't reroll on
    new servers any more. I used to be bothered by immature kids (anywhere from 12-92, it is an attitude not age thing), but now I just ignore everyone and enjoy soloing WoW. I even stopped raiding because I can't stand the vent chat during raids.

    I think you need to ask yourself why immature kids bother you at all?

    As for your research, I think you need to do more research...

    hey im not sticking up for kids...i know they can be annoying as hell but you dont see anyone complaining about annoyances such as higher levels who call people nubs or retards just because they're new (maybe those are kids) or assholes on general chat who when you ask a question they say "Find out yourself" those people pisss me of more than the people who spam PENIS in the chat...mainly because those people get banned but the ones I hate do not

    I'd kick your lame 20 year old ass out on the street and then fill it with rock salt from a 12 guage if you even dared to come into my home and pull that kind of crap. I don't care if you're 20 or 26, you have zero respect for anyone including yourself. I'd venture a guess the only reason you didn't try that at your own home was because your parents keep you on a tighter lease there. Get a job, step away from the computer for more than 20 minutes a day, get your own place and of course grow up.

    Immature kids are the Cash crop of WoW. It's a game that is so simple a 5 year old can pick up the game mechanics in about a week. Its Full of Bright and Colorful cartoonish stuff. The questing in  this game is all about collecting gear and items so people can sit in Ironforge and look "UBER LEET".  Blizzard made wow for one reason to make money, and the best customers are those little brats people complain about that have their parents Credit cards pouring in the $$$$$$ 

    Its a Childrens game
