Harvest Moon Online (HMO)

Hi,

about 1-2 years ago there was a game that could be called harvestmoon online. On flizard.com (site doesn't exist anymore) you could play an flash harvest moon where your stats are being saved and you could chat with other players, but you couldn't actually see other players. It was really fun, but the game was not complete. After some months I visited the site again and the game was gone image. Today I just for fun typed 'harvest moon online' in google and found this page: http://www.harvestmoononline.com/

There are some people planning to make a real mmorpg harvest moon. In my opinin the idea of playing harvest moon as mmorpg is just great (for me) and they have some real good ideas like you have farms on islands and you can export you crops to other islands to sell them for more. I really hope they bring out a playable version soon. HM is just 0ldsch00l image

Damn skippy my friend... I downloaded Harvest Moon for the SNES just for the memories.  That was a great game.  Although I don't think I'd be down for payin a monthly fee to farm...  should the MMORPG go down  image

I loved the SNES game, but as a mmog? Certainly not.  I t brings to mind a nice little single player sim game that turned mmog and turned into a big crappy paid chatroom.

    Yea..

Ive heard of that game before,

My friend told be about it and it sound pretty coo..

But the problem with these great mmorpgs is that they usually go p2pimage

but also they usually do a free beta version too..

The only issues I see here is the possible legality of the issue. Harvest Moon is a trademark of Nintendo (I think). Also, the bandwidth costs to run the game may eventually force the developers to instate a montly fee.

I loved the N64 HM and this game might be fun also. My only concern is the graphics. They are like original nintendo graphics image

Yeah I was indeed wondering about the trademark issues.

I hope it they will make it free forever as they said, but in my opinion it's impossible. There are always costs and mmorpgs that are free at the beginning usually turn p2p after some months of free play, due to financing problems. Other mmorpgs that are free in the beginning turn out to be dropped. The developers usually don't have the money and don't want to make it p2p but they still can't finance the game, so they quit it. Atm they are working on it and there is no problem but when it goes live and they have bandwith cost we will see how long it's free.
