More dead bots (actually, they are some of my "regulars" they finally got mad and went live and attacked me today I can understand where the owner was getting irritated with me training them lol)

I never saw a bot in Lineage II back when I played some 2 1/2 years ago ( then again I only played to level 23, got tired of being ganked so quit ). Went to EQ2 on launch and would have to say I bumped into at least 3 groups in any dungeon zone there . Currently playing WOW and have yet to see a bot or a group in any zone there.

Ah, bots are a vicious cycle that when started are nearly impossible to stop. I got into Lineage 2 Beta, but couldn't play because the lag was horrendous. So several months later I decided to play the game. I was surprised everything was so high in price and equally surprised that the bots were so obvious. I shrugged and just decided to play the game cause the graphics looked nice. What did me in was the adena farmers. For some reason they didn't want me to finish any of my quests. I kept getting trained by numerous adena farmers and told to go away in Chinese (had to look up translation for what they said, they used a popular phrase for that time). I joined the game not really knowing anyone and I was still pretty low in level so I figured if I was getting harrassed already I might as well just quit. What's the point if I can't quest and feel as though I'm being forced into buying adena? After all, as some have said it is just a game and I play for the enjoyment during my free time. A shame really, looked like a nice game.

Well the bots are still obvious but the rest of the scenerio isn't like that anymore. Really only the first wave of people in remember that back before C1.

The economy is a mixed bag. You don't have to buy anything from players (or very very little) for a long time. Maybe level 40(?) No, bots don't harrass anyone in L2 these days, its asses like me who harrass them lol.

Did you look at my pics? That me killing them. I thought that was obvious? Its the best way to make money if you don't like the economy. Bots never speak to anyone. They risk being killed if they do. Your days were when the bots had the upper hand because they leveled faster. Those days are long since gone for them.

I never heard of a bot/farmer training a live player. I don't see how a bot/farmer could train a player. Very few if any bots are actually manned. They sometimes have an auto log feature which takes them off-line. Thats about it.  Thats why they are such easy kills.

Trust me, I did some research on the subject when I went on my anti-bot/farmer crusade. WoW has more bots and farmers then roughly the population of all other MMO's combined. The amount of times the WoW bot program has been downloaded on one particular cheater site is proportionate to the amount of subscribers.

L2 does not have any problems any other MMO doesn't have, farmers have safe refuges in almost every other game -- instances. Want proof, visit any one of hundreds of currency sites and find you favorite game listed there. Some even have a reward point system.

    EDIT

See the post this idi*t mostont just made? (before its deleted) Go there and tell us what MMO is NOT listed.

Please, WoW is about the only game that has a bigger bot/farmer problem then L2. If you don't see that, theres nothing I can say that will make you. Go read your own forums or hunt in the high level areas. The only reason you are NOT uo to your armpits in bots is because of one thing........instances.

If you don't see the farmers, you really just don't want to. Which is cool, don't taint your view of MMO's, you will just be evil and mean like me. People like me kill our bots for fun and profit, something you are unable to do in precious, golden WoW.

(Ganks in L2 nowdays? You are aware there is a Karma system in place, right? There is no benefit to ganking in L2 only punishment for doing it)

Man these bots...thats the only thing that is keeping me from playing this game. I've heard about the terrible grind, but im quite used to grinders now.

If there was a way to SLAUGHTER bots whenever i found one without karma penalty or whatever...i'd play it. Just to kill them and steal their botted gear they dont deserve to have.

There is a way to kill them MajorBiggs, I do it all the time. You pull aggro mobs to them. We call it training. The bots will usually hook onto the mobs and pull the agro off of you. Assuming they don't force log and if your train is big enough, it will kill them.

Since a white will not drop gear to a red player (PKer) its not worth killing them. However if a mob kills them, they drop about 15% of the time on death. I've gotten everything from stacks of DSS, Mats and pieces of armor. Its a good way to supplement your money making. They are generally very easy to kill and may as well have free stuff for a name.

    Heres a few examples

lol Thorak. Those pictures look pretty entertaining to me.

Instead of outright killing them with my own hands i could use the train method...and watch them die..then come back and pick up their yummies.

If i think bots are nothing but NPC's that i hate and want killed...its more tempting to play this game lol.
