FF Trials?

hicks26hicks26 Member Posts: 142
Thought I would get a post going, I currently play a lot of games but I have seen a lot on FF and my friend and I would like to give it a go, we are unable to find any trial for the game at all unless your given a "pass" from another player. I am trying to find out if this is true, if so I will give it a miss as I don't purchase a game unless I have tried it before.

You get a free content ID for a month when you buy the game... the pass's from another player are just so you can join the same server there on ,sorry ..

you mayswell buy it , use the free content ID and if you dont like it take it back to the shop for a refund >_>

The reason I like a trial is when I can try a game I know if I like it or not, if I was to pay for FF and didn't like it I would get annoyed that I paid for it. Thats why smart consumers like trying before they buy.

Don't Listen to Yomomma, there is a trial. How ever its called a "Buddy Pass". You need to find somone who bought the FFXI Collectors edition and inside is a little sheet of paper that includes the Codes for a 30 day free trial of the game. You download it off the FFXI website.

The problem is, You need to find somone with the collectors edition. I belive its like $20 now, You said you & A friend want to try ffxi, well you could both Chip in $10 buy the Game, 1 of you use the buddy pass, other then Game and trial it for a month. Or you could spend hours looking for somone who's got an unused pass.

Edit: And Yomomma, Do you know what a Video Rental store is?

Anything shorter than a 30 day trial wouldn't give new players enough info to decide if they want to join or not.
Not to mention you won't have a clue what to do when you start if you diddn't have a manual.
A 10 day trial in FFXI would be like a 5 hour trial of WoW.

there's a law in the US that you can't return opened software FYI. Probably because it would be so easy just to buy it, copy it, then return it.The stores will actually get a huge fine if they accept any returned software. Sorry to interup, you can continue your flame war now.
