Just discovered I am *still* being charged by WWW.EIInteractive.com despite cancelling my account!! I emailed them about it via a web page they set up for people who have had trouble cancelling (this was after discovering I had been billed early last month despite trying to cancel my 'free' 14 day trial). Never had a reply to that email, and have asked my bank to block futher requests for payment from that billing address as unauthorised.
Am frankly astonished and appalled that an otherwise intersting and imaginative MMORPG (which I cancelled for no other reason than that I am a casual player and found it a bit 'grind-intensive' for my limited game time) has such dire customer service issues.
As you can see from my post count, I'm not someone who generally posts on forums or uses them for anything other than gaining technical advice/ game guides, but felt compelled to vent a little anger about this

*edited* I have just read the other posts on this board (that'll teach me not to post in haste, no matter how angry!) and see this is a common issue. Have followed an earlier posters advice and also lodged a complaint with IC3.

Hundreds of years from now, it will not matter what size my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... But the world may be different because I did something so bafflingly crazy that my ruins become a tourist attraction.

It beats waiting days for them to update your case, and etc. It was instant.
No, decided if they weren't going to fix it at their end, I'd fix it t mine. My bank has already been notified some weeks ago (in fact when I made the original post) not to authorise any requests for payment from EIINTERACTIVE.com. I shall not be having anything to do with them again

Wow, I thought they had this addressed awhile ago.

Waiting on Guild Wars 2
After I was billed for the free trial I emailed dana massey of MMORPG.COM and told him what was going on with EI. I canceled my credit card but not before they rang up a $30 charge for pushing it over the limit. I wrote a review detailing all this on the HZ official forum as well as here on MMORPG.COM. I also left a comment in the rating section that clearly warned other players about what was going on.
Rest assured the folks here at MMORPG.COM have heard repeatedly what is going on. I no longer see my rating comment posted. I logged in on another computer (not on my account) to see if this was true and as far as I can see it is no longer visable.
Bottom line, the folks at EI are doing very poor business charging people the way they do. I do not believe that this site should become a place for disgruntled gamers to trash games they don't like just for the heck of it. I gave the warning in the review because that is where people go to check out what others are saying about the game when they are considering playing it. It is appropriate to tell people the truth so they can make the best decision about playing or not playing a game. I was not making a comment to be mean or smear a legitimate company.
EI will not have "we are going to charge you for the free trial" or " we will not allow you to cancel and repeatedly bill your card" posted anywhere on their site so I feel it is important to know that those things are happening to new players. I found some things I liked about HZ but the billing issues I had would keep me from ever playing this game. If there is an issue like this in our community we have an obligation to bring it to light and hopefully get the problem resolved. If enough people complain and hold EI accountable, they will have to change the way they do business, which in the end would allow more people to enjoy the game.
I can only imagine how busy the staff are here at MMORPG.COM, and HZ is an older game with few players these days. I can understand why they would want to focus on the bigger games and newest games but I hope they will be able to someday do a review where the facts are brought to light in this case. Perhaps EI would listen to them as they are respected in the industry and reach most of the hard core gamers that play these games.

That was probably when Tulga was running the game. EI doesn't have any significant IRC presence and hasn't since they took over.

If they keep taking money from you, just get a new credit card. This will stop them being able to take subscription money as the expiry date etc. will be wrong. This works in the UK anyway.
In the US credit card security is appauling making things a lot more tricky. In the US people only need your CC number to use it (ignoring expiry dates, name and security codes 95% of the time). Meaning you have to go and get a totaly new bank account so your CC number changes and they can no longer withdraw from it.
Thats from my experience working in customer support for another company anyway (you normaly dont hear about stuff like this) :P
Anybody got an update on whether they have fixed the billing yet? I have also heard people buy the game and then can't create a character because they disconnected the character creation process for a month or more. I'd love to hear if they've fixed anything or if they are just going to finish plunging Horizons into the ground. What more could you expect from people that actually think Savage Eden is a game worth paying for?
Yeah, also in that article the current people in charge deny and then try to spin the fact that people's credit information was put out over insecure servers. Sorry, the "Tulga did it all" doesn't wash. I can't wait for the second part of the MMORPG.COM article. People being ignored when trying to get their overcharges taken care of had nothing to do with Tulga. Tulga is not the company the BBB list as "unpursuable" because they couldn't get any response from EI. EI is the one looking at criminal charges from the Atlanta Attorney General, not Tulga. This game IS dead.
Yeah you are not just a kidding there, EI is pure and simple, not doing a good job of running the game. Ruining the game is more like it.
HZ is a very unique game and if developed properly it could be great. Sadly it is headed to disaster under EI.
