Can anyone tell me...

I played this on my ps2 and had an account and everything. If I want to play on pc do I have to buy a whole new game or can I borrow someones discs to play? My char was inactive for about 1 year now. Is there anyway to recover? Thanks ahead of time.

There's a decent chance your characters are still there, as long as you only canceled your content ID, rather than delete the characters.  I've taken very long breaks from FFXI in the past, and have come back to find my characters waiting in the moghouse for me.

If you borrow your friend's PC CDs and install the game, you should be fine to use your existing PS2 account on the PC.  I did the same thing awhile back, because my PS2 decided death was more enjoyable than running all the time for me :(n  Just remember to use the passwords and IDs from your PS2 account and you should be fine.

    Best of Luck to you!

  • Ok thank you for the info. I didn't delete me characters I just cancelled the ID, I did however give away all my stuff. But at least if I started again I'd have a subclass. That's really all I want from it.

To further add, since you started on Ps2 (If this is Pre ToAU) You'll need to purchanse a PS2 version of ToAU and use the Registraion codes. Even if you buy the PC ToAU version, if you started on PS2 you can't crossplatform Expansions.
