Oh and, there are some guilds that have beat the game.

Meaning they have beat all the instance and world bosses.

If you're talking about quality/fun/etc, then I'm afraid WoW has already lost...

Isnt quality judged by each person individualy? You may not like WoW but a thousand people do. So those numbers actually represent people who consider WoW to be of a great quality, right?

And I hope no1 brings up the McDonalds effect to try to persuade us that the quantity of the people that use a certain product does not represent the quality of the product. WoW is priced equaly to most other MMORPGs. McDonalds is not. People buy McDonalds NOT becuase of the quality, but because of the price and ordering speed.

I believe that 6 million people who play WoW are not similar to millions of people dining at McDonalds.

That being said, I have doubts any new MMO that targets a specific player base will be limited to that player base. Right now, casual solo players are the majority. So no raid or PvP or group oriented game will ever be as sucessfull, you gotta mix it up, make a decent PvP, but not solely open hardcore PvP, make some raiding, but not at the expence of soloing or questing, make some grouping content but dont make it forced grouping. Most MMOs dont balance those things out well enough, Eve is hardcore corp-PvP oriented game, GW is PvP oriented, L2/FFXI is group/raid oriented. Those games are great for a small (compared to WoW) number of players but not for the masses.

I predict some games will try to break WoW in certain areas, but untill they learn to balance out ALL the areas they will never beat WoW by the numbers.

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
