I think America is overreacting, if a big buildig would be destroyed in Iraq, then they don't care... But OMG, it was in America, holy America. I think you guys should also have silenco for many other things, that the army of the US has done, but where the most don't really care about.

2 things
1)iraq's economic is too poor fo those kinds of building
2) the REAL reason its a big thing is because of how long and how much money it took to build and the amount of people that died when it happened all brought on because of something the president did.

Originally posted by Zerogenum Why should 911 be forgotten? Wheres the logic wheres the basis or justification? I'll never forget the deaths of 3000 americans.
No one should forget what happened. But it should also be put in perspective. It was tragic, and it was a very dramatic event, but in the perspective of world tragedies it sort of fails in comparison.
I agree with the people that say it has been used as a means to do things that never would have passed muster otherwise. It should never have changed America to the degree that it has. It's amazing how naive people become when faced with panic. And couple that with some partisan bickering and people will fall right into line.
9/11 is still such a big deal because it happened right in the heart of USA, its not really the casualties. While its a sad thing that all those people died, 3000+ is still a small number in a larger scale. How many dies in carcrashes annually for example? A lot more but theres isnt a day dedicated to those people is there? So if someone says they dont really give a shit about 9/11, that tells more about what kind of world we live, rather than that guy being a jerk.
Anyway, call me jerk or whatever but imo USA had it coming. That is what you get when you fuck with other peoples lifes (in foreign countries).

We've been doing that for a long time. The US hasn't learned to stop fucking with other people. If two countries want to kill each other, so be it. Why does the US always stick their nose in there.

So you are now comparing the lives of 44000 Iraqis to the lives of 4000 Americans and a couple of tall buildings? not to mention the number of buildings destroyed in Iraq, nice comparison you got there.

Edit: God i quoted the wrong person. Yes, it is sick. People, expecially americans, tend to think they are better than the rest of the world, and that the deaths of 44,000 iraqis and the destruction of thousands of iraqi homes and buildings is justified.
Then maybe someone should just nuke America right? Since, well, we're all soooo evil because we live in America.
I personally can not stand what this country has turned into, but I still live here and I'm happy that I do. We have so many different people from all over the world living here, but the world still hates us with some odd burning passion.
Not only does the US government give East Indians free money to start their own business, but we take in tens of thousands of refugees that claim asylum. Yet we are still an evil bad man's country with our wild west way of living.
But why do so many people want to be like us? Why do so many people want to move to America. Because, it's that dream we've painted through out the years that we've been united, as a whole that makes us what we are today. The best.
Am I wrong? I could be.
Am I right? I could be.
I'm not saying it's the best because I want to, it is because we can offer people so much that other countries can't. That doesn't make me self centered and egotistic. It just makes me well educated about what we can offer to people.
Does that make me like the US government and the current President? No. I actually didn't vote for George Bush Jr. I voted for the other guy.
But to each their own. Whatever comes from this thread, let me say this. The United States and their people put up with a lot of shit from outside sources because they are jealous of our freedom, our way of living, and what you can become here. You can have a dream, and make it happen here.
Vertex, you know that is not what I was saying, don't be so much of an ass. I was saying that people in america are so elitist to think that it takes tens of thousands more iraqis and afghanis to justify the deaths of 3000 people. I mean, really, 3000=/=44000. People need to learn to put things into porportion. Yes, 9/11 was really bad and all, but how many people here die each day? If those ads on TV are correct about drunk driving, it is 2880 each day just from that. Then add those who die from AIDS, you have another 3000 a day. Everything is just blown out of porportion.

I understand your point of view, I was just trying to explain something, that's all.
I know 3,000 American people don't compare to the 10's of thousands that have been killed in Iraq and other places over there by the American armed forces.
I just think that gave the US President an excuse to go over there and release hell if you ask me.

Move on, but don't forget.
Lets just stop making movies all the time about it. It's not the best thing to always see planes hitting buildings, even if it's a movie.
Same with WW2, lets stop making 200000000 games about it.
