PvP vs PvE + My Take

If your looking for a hard core, all out, kill anyone at anytime for any reason game, this is the game for you. 

I find the game fun, it is beta, so I can't speak to all the issues of the mechanics, and there are a lot of issues. 

The one that concerns me the most is the use of RL money to buy equipment or items, some online type store thats integrated into the game, I am not sure of the spectifics because its still in Korean.

The ganking problem is a big issue, you could be lvling up, killing some NPCs, be low on health, and someone just passing by shoots one arrow and your dead, or casts one spell etc.  Melee types have a HUGE disadvantage vs Ranged Types.  So don't even bother making one yet.  Players 30 Lvls above you, just swing by to gank you, and could care less about the so called punishment of the Rogue status.

I have played a Knight to 25, a Sorc to 20, an Archer to 16.  All were equally fun and challenging, but make no mistake this game is a grindfest.  At lvl 25, killing mobs 2 lvls above me, I was getting .15% exp, I can't imagine when you hit the 40s or 50s.

I like this game A LOT!!!  However, unless a seperate PvE server is created, I will be passing on this game.   If your a hardcore PvP player, and want the challenge of fighting both the PvE and PvP at once, this is the game for you.

They've already said their will be a separate PvE server where PvP will take place in Battlground areas and of course the sieges for Archlord.

The items you can purchase are supposed to be potions to help you lvl up quicker. They are tied into the pay plus system.

You won't be buying any swords or armor, etc.

So no worries there.

If this is true, and there is a PvE server, then I would pay an online fee for this game, simply for the long term entertainment value it has, I don't mind grinding, I have a bunch of paitience.  And if the online payment thing only applies to the Increased Exp Items, thats find as well, I wouldn't buy one, but doesn't throw the game too far outta whack.  Thanks for the Info.

this game is between l2 gw wow e2.

Its absolutely not a hardcore pvp game tomany savezones no penalty when killed.

Games is very easy like wow they hold your hand and lead you through game.

What i like is how it looks and style music thats good.

Some mob ares looks realy great.

Like in l2 no soulbound no good item go to wasted you can always sell it a again.

You can stand 24h ingame np not like wow after 15min throw out of the game AL is truly 24h online game.

No instance zones all open wolrd only some dungeon and battle grounds are instance.

But its truely grind game endllesly killing mobs.

Well to lvl 100 so dunno about end game im lvl 25?

Moonelf looks nice humans as always and orcs well there orcs ugly basterds :P

If payment would be with gamecard i would play it untill darkfall comes.

     Its not a bad idea of the Payplus system... 9.99 is the cheapest MMORPG around , not since UO days (back in 1999 have there been a 9.99 MMORPG.) I ve played the Korea counterpart , its not a huge advantage , the xp is faster on US server , especially if ya do the quests and hunt the dungeons.

       Koreans are saying things like "the are going to add a pet that autoloots" and "causal clothing" to the Item shop in the coming months.

   If ya just play the game to enjoy the game then the Item Mall has no impact on ya , if ya want level faster than most then ya have to be pay the higher sub , and hunt higher lvl dungeons when ya hit 20s. On the US server I was getting 4k xp at 18 on the 3rd lvl of the dungeon ,

      Now if ya dont want to pay for the 19.99 package then ya can do the quests (found a few after 20 that gives over 100k xp and items) Ya can get 3 to 4 lvls in 20 minutes , with 10k gold (for teleporting) ya just got to teleport around and find the right citter to kill and the npc to give ya the quest. Some quests at higher lvls give ya 40% to 50% into a lvl.

Well, the only safe zones I've seen are the cities. So in that it is like L2.

And there is a death penalty. I think at the moment it is 3% but I've heard all sorts of rumors about it going "up" to "death penalty has not been implemented in villian characters".

This is Beta so they have tweaked things a bit so that people aren't too inhibited in lvling and testing higher lvl areas.

Ok, that's good to know. I do keep seeing over at the Archlord boards that the pvp penalties have not been implemented yet. Though I don't know where "they" are getting that info.
