I'm looking at Lineage 2 UXO and MEO personally. WOW looks like "more of the same" as far as the fantasy genre goes. L2 looks like it's going to set some trends in PVP combat and MEO has some very original concepts included in it's package. UXO is based on a well proven system, taking a lot of it's concepts from UO. I am concerned that UXO doesn't appear to have PVP at this point, however. Much as the pure PVE folks would like to dispute it, well-implemented PVP adds a ton to the value and fun of a MMO.
Isn't anyone else tired of "EQ re-vamped" type MMO's?

All three look to be great games imo. Since WoW is unlikely to come out anywhere near the other two though I would rule that one out for now and try to pick between Lineage 2 and CoH.
Lineage 2 and CoH both look very impressive and I will probably end up trying both, but if your only going to play one game I think the biggest deciding factor would be what type of genre interests you the most. If fantasy is more to your liking go with Lineage 2, if the super hero thing is more exciting go with that.
Both games have many great things going for them but each has a major challenge to overcome imo as well. CoH is a very innovative idea but I worry that a super hero game may not fit well in a mmorpg format and it will be interesting to see how it works out. I am really hoping they can pull this off.
Lineage 2 seems well designed with its large scale clan wars and beautiful graphics but the open pvp environment tends to attract the fanatical pvp crowd which seems to consist largely of social misfits and emotionally stunted individuals. Hopefully the penalty system for random pking will help to limit this crowds involvement and encourage those interested in the more meaningful guild wars and political aspects of the game.
I'm in the L2 beta, and I can tell you it's really no big deal, it's got major "grind". Graphics are pretty, but it's not going to do any better than the original in the US market, it'll do well in it's target asian market, major big deal for them, but not for the more mature US market that wants alot more than endless level grind. WoW (which I'm not hyped about anyway) will be a much better game, far far more immersive, more interesting. Some lesser known titles are the ones that I'm alot more excited about, like "Dark & Light" for instance. Not sure about CoH yet, I am concerned that it may get boring very fast, I'm hopeful about getting into the beta for it and getting a look before it comes out. Always best to get a free demo look before buying!
I have to say WoW. I don't know much about the other two, but WoW really looks great. There is PvP in instanced zones, so if you want to PvP you can. There's also quests, and a trade system that sounds great. Not to mention it's the Warcraft Universe. What's better then that?
Personally out of the three i'm going to go with City of Heros. As a lifelong comic collector the idea of my CoH charachter appearing in a monthly comic sounds to good to pass up(i heard there will be one based on the events happening in game).
I'm leaning towards city of heroes! it just sounds like a fun way to spend my time that id rather just watch TV, I'd be a superhero! having fun! ya and i've just been following this game the most.
