For me it was an MMO called StarSonata. It is amazing and i litterally spent 6-8 hours every day on the game... It is a 2d space shooting/base building/trading game.... It was great you could put bases on planets and mine for different materials.... It was such a deep game...I eventually joined one of the 2 guilds that was struggling for Domination of the universe... It was called the Way of Peace... (We were like the enforcers... The other guild was kinda like a cultish guild where if didn't join them they would destroy your drones and such and blah blah...
Anywaysyy it was great until it went Pay to Play.... Then i was like... ehh... I'm too cheap... And they started making a buncha new updates and blah blah... So i was like... I'd rather not...
the website for it is www.starsonata.com ... it's really good and it's free to play until you reach level 20... and then they restrict you from leveling any higher until you pay.. You guys should give it a try.
What's your Wu Name? Donovan --> Wu Name = Violent Knight Methane47 --> Wu Name = Thunderous Leader "Some people call me the walking plank, 'cuz any where you go... Death is right behind you.." <i>ME<i>
For games in general it would be Team Fortress, and I'm not talking about the Half-Life wannabe team fortress classic crap but on Quake 1. Oldschool baby!
For MMO I would have to say AO. Even with the horrible launch it had I remember it being PACKED full of people when it started. Playing it now feels like I'm walking through a ghost town. Even though there are some people playing it still it is nothing to how it was when it came out. Kinda like how SWG is now
The most addictive game I ever played was Real Life .
All jokes aside, I loved "The Legend of the Swordsman And Fairy" (otherwise known as Chinese Paladin) series, the storyline and graphics totally owned. I have yet to watch the movie though...looking forward to the time when I can .
For me, AO is the only game I have thus tried that I would call addictive

ARC: Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and Metal Slug
GCN: RE4 or SSBM
DOS: Alley Cat and Ski Free
SNES: Mortal Kombat 3 and Super International Cricket
Master System: The Ninja (never clocked it tho )
N64: Goldeneye then Perfect Dark
NES: Zelda and Super Mario
Just a list of games that NEARLY, oh so nearly made me fail school.

Warcraft III Before I got Xfire I played Warcraft III original online and then I upgraded to TFT. Yeah, this game has consumed a lot of my life. Stratedgy games > mmorpgs

I've beaten that game so many times, with some many different endings and results, it's not even funny. And even then, I'll still pick it up every now and then just to go through it again.
Final Fantasy XI had me completely addicted and hooked, but as most who have played it for awhile would understand that...it requires so much time...its kind of jump in or dont play at all, at least for me.
Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics also had me for awhile...
Daggerfall damn i dont know how i spent so much time on it, i played it for almost a year every day, and it was bug ridden lol, but it was so immersive.... i remember jumping in my chair because of some nasty lich lord suddenly coming from a corner lol
and probably Final Fantasy III ( the 6th in the jap numbers) when it first came in the Snes i played it, finished it, and got all characters to lvl 99
I've played so many addicting games that I just couldn't stop playing. America's Army is one of them, I used to get home throw down my books and hit up my computer to play it. I still play AA but its not as addicting. But I have to say the most addicting game for me was Age of Empires, I used to wake up early in the morning when i was younger just to get on the computer before xexima did to play Age of empires. I love that game, even now i'll break it open and play. I love that game so much
I hope some day we can all put aside our racisms and prejudices and just laugh at people

Wow..... Almost like me! Atleast the games are teh same, and in the same order..
Played Runescape from mid 7th grade to mid 8th grade, and D2 from mid 8th grade to mid 9th grade... never been hooked any longer for a game...
Although runescape now is trash when compared, back then when I didnt know any better, I was so effin happy. I loved that game and I had a lot of fun.
D2 was really really fun and i had god knows how many high lvls and all that good stuff, guildwars now is alright, but theres something about it that just doesnt make it as good. I think its because the feeling of going through the desert for example. In d2 you could just waste people quickly with spells and stuff, and how quickly you killed them added to the game, but with guild wars and it being such a large game and 3D you cant kill stuff like you can in 2D and it kind of feels I have to go from monster to monster (give for a take a few) instead of group of monsters to group.
edit: I think it may have something to do with my quote, not in the way of sophisication, but simplicity. Gw is a much bigger game than D2 and more complex. I just loved how D2 played and how it was about builds, but not in the way gw does builds. I only have around 80-100 hours on gw but theres just something about the builds that bores me, I dont like how you can change your skills whenever you want.
