New MMORPG

I am currently playing SWG, getting disheartened as usual because i have mastered one path and hate having to restart paths.

Does anyone know a good MMORPG (preferably fantasy) with good character creation? I want to be able to create ever little thing about my character, including the possibility to do such a bad job of it that my character is fatally floored at the beginning.

I would also like a game where it takes a long time to level up fully, rather than a game where you constantly have to drop skills and learn others.

If possible i want one you can download (i hate waiting for delivery).

Thanks

hahaha everyone looks pretty much the same in ff11, racially at least.  There really isn't a game with more customization than SWG.  I'm not promoting SWG but that's the facts.

i was in the beta test for FFXI and i hated it. the armors all look the same and the combat is boring unless youre a caster/healer. the graphics are beautiful and the character models look great, but id rather have something to do with the battle than hit attack and hope i win.

anarchy online is 2nd to SWG. however it isn't fantasy.. there are swords and magic, but guns and vehicles too.

UO is still king of the MMO's imo. It's got far more variety, versatility and customization than any other MMO out there, imo. It's crafting and housing system is superior to other games as well. Graphics are dated but if all you care about is graphics then you shouldn't be playing MMO's anyway.

IMO: UO is still the best one out there. Horizons is a flop, the devs REALLY need to work on implementing more features for that sucker. WOW is gonna be "just another EQ clone" as are many of the other new titles. I'm watching MEO with some hope and EQ2 looks like it might actually crack out of the EQ level grind. Won't know for sure till the beta starts though.

IMO the only TRUE RPG's out there have large scale PVP involved. AO, DAOC, UO, etc. If it's properly implemented PVP adds a ton to the fun, roleplay and feel of any MMO.

Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

    Risk your life looks intrigueing.

And then an old game that I played for nearly 3 years because it was so fun was AC1. PvP was really fun in that game on the darktide server. Although the early days were the best, dont know how it is now.
