Initially I had to say OMG these graphics are horrible.  I assume theres no way to adjust them either yet.  So far the gameplay seems kinda cool.  Im playing a rogue and it sucks that none of the vendors sell arrows.  LOTS of people playing this game hard to find a mob to kill lol.  So far none of my armor animates, and thats a serious no-no for me.  I'll stick it out for a bit.

I wasn't liking all the steps it took to get into the game.  image

Once i got all signed up and started playing though, i have to say it's far better than most games i've beta tested lately. I was getting sooooo tired of that top-down camera angle that most games use nowadays (Thesa, for example image image image image ).

I wouldnt call the graphic horrible. they arnt great but they arnt horrible either. actually some of the spell graphics are awsome.

u can buy arrows at the sundries merchant, they are on the secound page. One gold piece per arrow. armor gets alittle better when u reach higher lvls. i also think that u can put a guild logo on armor and cloaks when ur guild becomes knights but im not too sure about that.,

Cool, yeah Im not saying it sucks, but did you see the graphics of the trees?  That and the char mod graphics need serious work, the rest I can deal with.

Well, I personally dont like the movement very much, and it needs to be more fluid.. Horizons had very good movement, I would like to see this game develope controls more like HZ or EQ... I'm not a big fan of the mouse clicking movment controls, that in my opinion is what killed Shadowbane... With that set aside however, I find the game to be a nice change from the standard EQ, HZ etc... Its actually fun, which I can not say about alot of new rpg's that come out... it is very simple to grasp the hang of and you can jump in and start smacking and wacking right away which is a big plus... I like the way the menu's are set up exept for the group menu, it makes it a little tough to figure out with bars go with which people... All in all though its a good game... graphics could be better as far as character models go.. but I would rather trade fun for graphics any day... Good Job Kight Online.. Looking forward to seeing a finished product...

Oh another thing that I find very irritating..(other than not being sure if I spelled that right)... Is not being able to delete my character untill a week pass's... I wanted to try out the good races but I had already created an evil character.. Guess I'll just have to wait a week...

I found a few minutes during my lunch hour today to login and create a character. To my surprise I was able to create my character level up to five, complete one quest and start another. The game seems fast pace and easy to pick up and play. I'm looking forward to getting off work and putting some time into it.

There is a kill kill kill feel to game, which I like.image

I don't really like the game that much. I don't like the hack n slash feel to it. I mean right away your fighting and thats all you do. You cant go anywhere because the more you travel away form the town the harder the monsters are, so your stuck fighting in one area till you lvl up. kind of like Priston tale. Ya there are things to do, but their really no point to them. "go get 5 claws" ok whats the point to for that. it seems thats what all the quest are. I like quest that send me on a adventure and have a point. the main reason I don't like this game that much is because its just hack n slash no adventuring to it at all. Its just one big area with a bunch of monsters around (allot of monsters to).

Theirs to many people and monsters in one area they need things like quest to get people out in the world in stead of just fighting in front of town. you shouldn't have to wait till your like lvl 20 something to travel the world either.

Maybe its the way it is because its in beta form, but I hope its different when it releases.

don't get me wrong its not a bad game its just I don't like the constant hack n slash. I like to do things instead of fighting the same monsters over and over in the same spot. That gets old really fast.

    Two solutions to this problem.
    1. You can try another race on another server(if u dont have friends on ur current server).
    2. Its a free beta, so just make another account to play the other race with(this would be better if u have friends u want to hang with on ur current server).

    Hope this helps

Well I think it's a lot of fun, even though I have to agree that right now it's mostly hacknslash. The thing is though, it's very fun hacknslash, which most mmorpgs arent imo. I've beta tested a few games, and this is the only one where the first day I found pve combat exciting (mainly because I haven't found a way to con mobs, if such a thing exists in KO image ).

Having said that, I patiently await the day that a mmorpg provides some really cool quests/events that you dont have to be a power gamer to do

Yeah this game is Diablo2 in FPS view.  Still its kinda fun and different.  Got lvl 10 yesterday but when I went to "choose" my upgrade class, it chooses for you.  Also it says you have to pay 300 gold, and then took 3000 gold.  Wasnt too happy there.  But, money doesnt seem to have much value since I made over 200,000 the first day just selling to the vendors.

    hi,

played it for around 10 hrs now, and i can actually say its quite enjoyable, i hope there is more to it than just hack n slash.

ok, so the graphs aren't brilliant, but it is a smooth engine, sometimes peakin at 60fps, which beats the crap out of Horizons( with its 5fps in the towns), and it has some nice touches like the Trade windows above players heads.

They seriously need to sort the group xp, because you can just sit there while the rest kill the mobs, and you get the xp??

Oh yeah, and they could improve the sound effects, and the visual spell effects are just bad, but apart from that it is fun, and hopefully it gets better as you get higher lvl.

u can look under Monsters section on the main web page to find mobs lvls and other info. there are also maps which actuall have where each mob can be found.

U can press F9 for different view types. this game is not just fps, its also third person view(shadowbane style) and secound person view(more of a DAoC style).

I think most of the spell effects are very good, I just dont like the terrain graphics. I also think that character movement is pretty good. I just wish we had the option to set our own macros cause i like to use the mouse for movement Instead of WASD while in the secound person view.

Well, I leveled quite a bit today (well for me anyway image). I've done a bit of exploring, and the world seems kind of blah to me.  I havent found a building yet that you can go inside of, and so far I haven't come across a dungeon.  image  There better be some awesome quests around to make up for that image

this game is kinda fun compared to other mmorpgs n the requirements fit my 2 yr old com lolimage  but it is still in beta so maybe more patches r comin up n more new things ahead of us

  • BaTeRBaTeR Member Posts: 8

first i would like to say, you change the view so it is exatcly like Daoc or SWG. you even get auto-run(best feature).  Once you get to Level 20 the game becomes alot better, Mostly because you cant solo very well and its more about grouping... thats all i can say now because i havnt gotten past lev 23 but when i do ill give yea a update on pvp and clans such.

  • AdonAdon Member Posts: 2
This game sound coller than the others i've seen, the graphics are not poor and are not the better, but its ok. It's pretty easy to lvl up and its makes the game more "quickly" and intersting. Another games like Priston Tale, u play 4 hours and dont get in lvl 10 for example. This game is OK.

It's not a bad game. If you're already playing DAOC though I don't see any particular reason to buy this game.

  • cedoricedori Member Posts: 500

Perhaps some are not interested in buying this game, but I thought the purpose of getting into beta was to be a tester.

I've been enjoying myself in the game so far. As I put a greater emphasis on game play rather than graphics, it's a blast.

The only real issue is the horrible lag. With the new server scheduled in a few days hopefully this will help. The only bad thing is you can't use your current character on the new server. image

If the lag issue can be resolved, and the price is decent, I'll continue playing once the game goes gold.

True enough, but the purpose of the thread imo was to see what other players thought of the game as it is today (or the day he posted heh).

I must say I am impressed.  The graphics are not par with EQ2, for instance, but graphics, as long as they are decent, matter little.  This game is complex yet the interface is simple.  Feels like more things to do while less things to worry about searching for etc.  I'm very glad to help beta test this game and I am sure that I will pick it up on release.  imageimage

i have to give my opinion of Knight Online image

i played this game so much... have 3 characters yet, and 4 rl friends that plays it too... in 2 weeks i made the 3 of my characters : lvl 36, 44, and 33. It has been fun since the first day, that your hunting in a newbie zone, and a lvl 2 or 3 monster drop you a stone that worth 150k in the shop.

The PvP system is so much fun. At level 30 there is a zone named "The Colony", where humans are against Orcs. I'm orc and i kill humans to get National Points. National points are to get my clan to top 5 of the game, and let all know im a good PvPer :). And if you have none national points, and you get pked by a human, you lose exp. When i pk a human i get half of his Gold ( of course there is a store to store all the money be4 go fighting hehe ) and you get about 50 national points.

I think in the first week of this game.. you can enjoy a lot that game. You should all try for at least 1 week image
