Computer Question (very slight knowlege of Command prompt needed)

Hey guys,
I'm in a fix. A while back, I had a problem with my computer suffering from extreme lag at odd intervals of a couple of days lagging, and a couple of days being fine. But thats not the problem. I know how to fix it, If I use the command Chkdsk in the command prompt. Since then, its only come back every couple months.
Unfortunately, for god knows what reason, I can't remember how to clear the parameters from C:Documents and SettingsChris>. If I don't clear the parameters, the lag persists.
Any help is appreciated.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted, but from what I understand it's either you want to clear the screen, or go back some folders.
If you want to clear all text, do cls.
If you want to go back folders, do cd <folder>.

By clearing the parameters Im assuming you mean the folders properties ?
If so just goto Explorer, find the folder select it then from the top menues go "tools" then "folder options" and all will be revealed.
