Yes, this game is exactly like Guilds Wars. just like in GW, in AL; you gather at a town and go inside instances with either a bunch of NPC's or some other players. just like GW, the whole AL world is instanced. and once you reach the cap (which is lvl 20) you start doing PVP in arena's over and over again.

I believe he was referencing the cookie cutter feel to the game. GW and AL both have limited character creation and not much variety. Both games are somewhat linear though AL does have more extras. No real crafting. It does seem to have the same concept when it comes to guilds. AL may not be instanced but it is very similar to GW on a larger scale with level 99. The graphics are very similar.

the entire gameplay in Archlord is COMPLETELY diffrent from Guild Wars. Guild Wars is hardly "cookie cutter".

I found AL to be quite cookie cutter,

This is a Korean grind game. It falls more in line with Lineage 2 than Guild Wars. Though GW is an NC Soft game. You either like this style of art design or not. Of course, I'm always for cusotmization but usually eastern games aren't that concerned with it. It could be cultural but it could also be because of loading all those custom toons during large scale pvp would be processor intensive.

I personally love Anime inspired art design but would love more customization as a matter of course.

And no, this game is nothing like Guild Wars.

Eh I'm currently playing Guild Wars and AL is nothing like it in my opinion. Nor is Guild Wars cookie cutter in the negative way you probably meant to use that term. Archlord based on looks and battle reminded me more of FFXI (I only so far started it up and played for like 30min but that was the impression I got.) Which is a complement by the way.  But I didn't get in to deep with the game yet.

AL and GW are really not that much alike.

GW is mostly instancing, while AL you do go out in the "real" world to do your quests.  Plus I believe the level cap in AL is 100 compared to 20 with GW.  So, AL is more in line with lineage 2 for the grind fest than it is to GW.

Not to mention the voice acting in GW is MUCH better than in AL, probably due to the poor translators.  Heck, in beta there are errors in the quest text telling you to go to places that don't exist.
