And where is Vanguard? I think it would win this poll.
EDIT: My bad, I didn't read the question in full. D'oh.
The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling
Haha, I don't know about Vanguard's PvP. I agree that it has some serious potential to be a great PvE game, but they're just not focused on PvP. I'm interested to see how both AoC and WAR turn out, and will probably end up playing them both. But... my vote goes to WAR.
Warhammer looks like the most promising one of the listed 3 coming out in the next year. Age of conan has good ideas and nice graphics but I'm not into the whole head lopping thing.
Dont go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first. (Mark Twain)
WAR for RvsR (or thats what I heard) and Archlord for clan politics. both games are fully based on PVP.
for the "Biggest pvp" (Not necisary the best) then without a doubt AL is the winner. Because of the extremely limited customization, it can provide battles with litterly hundreds of players.
AoC hands down... you can lop off heads! Blood will be squirting all over the screen. Viscera will happen. You will get queasy and vomit, and then I will kill you and /dance on your corpse. The End

Mythic games, such as DAOC are known for their PvP and are mostly played by those that want to PvP. WAR has the same type of following and will offer PvP right out the gate. AoC requires you to get to level 20 first solo and then you can start PvPing.
I am not sure about Archlord, but isn't it open PvP? I see more griefing in this game than PvP.
PvP in Age of Conan will be hopelessly unbalanced by PvE raid loot. If you want to PvP you'll have to spend most of your time farming PvE raid instances for equipment upgrades. I know there are people who don't want to believe this so...don't believe if you don't want to. Find out the hard way.
Archlord I don't know enough about to comment.
Warhammer looks like it's trying to get it right but they still have time to screw up.

From what I have seen I would agree. AoC devs can't seem to stop themselves from being pulled into the raid/mudflate cycle maelstrom. Looks like a cool game, but they seem set to make the same mistakes of other games. I will wait at least 6 months after release to see what happens
Mythic got burned so bad by the same thing that they seem to be appropriately leary of it. And I think they will have a better setup for various PvP. If they pull out a good lateral system, more people will be mixing it up and if they pull off their zoning well people might be able to get in on all sorts of action pretty quick.

Actually not. Now unfortunately I can't remember where I found the interview, but somehow they will sorta of split the PvE and PvP items and skill/level.
2 Sec... I'll see if it can find that interview...........
Got it:
Try reading this
In the outside world, however, players will find that things are very different. That's because every player will, in effect, be two different characters. Players will have two different level and experience point totals that track PvE and PvP experience. Combat moves and behaviors will be different in PvP fights, and damage output will be modified to make fights between players last longer and be more even. There will even be separate equipment tables for PvP and PvE weapons and armor. While no weapon will ever be completely ineffective, it goes a long way toward reducing the chronic problem of PvP fights being based on equipment rather than skill.
My vote goes to Age of Conan. For creating a balanced PvP with a lot of fun features such as drunken brawls, small skirmishes and outright castles sieges, while having a good PvE part. Also for creating a game that actually requires human skill over stats and equipment.
Though I will most likely play both for at least a little while Ithink AoC will be king if they can pull it off. AoC will for once actually pit player skill vs player skill with a real time combat system rather than clickable hot bars.

Right, and the best PVP gear coming from blood money, which is earned by... PVPing, means nothing to you? Read the facts again before you post inanities. Granted, PVE gear MAY end up the way you describe, but I deem it highly unlikely.

Granted, PVE gear MAY end up the way you describe, but I deem it highly unlikely. Well I have read the quotes and have read a lot of the Age of Conan forums as well I deem it quite likely. They have already taken the steps down the road. Now they will have to prove through a good year, at least, of release development that they don't mess up things the way everyone else including their previous title has messed up. At least that is the way it is for me. I'm sorry but their promises mean little and they seem pretty adamant on raids rewarding best. EQ2 sepearates PvP and PvE items and the pve/pvp stats on every item and spell, but raid items are still some of the best pvp items.
Originally posted by hercules WAR will probably win amongst the 3 for pvp since mythic has very good experience with large scale pvp.
I hate to say it, but thats the only reason you can come up with? developer "experience" is a fickle thing, especcially since it is usually an entirely different team assigned to each game.

I wonder if Archlord will get ANY votes?

WAR is over rated.

I think that AOC will probably be better for one on one combat.
It has been a while since I studied both MMOs, and I guess I better go check out their websites to make sure
I have a valid outlook on both games.
Too bad I couldn't have voted for both.

Yep..Look at Archlord...Truely in the lead *cough*
I played the Beta...Major suckage at higher levels. Sure you get nice new gear, but the grind gets worse and the crashes are hard to swallow.

Not sure about anyone else, but Fury is looking to have decent PvP.
And for those laughing at open pvp, maybe you should go play EQ and stop being such carebears.

War will be awesome but it will be like so many before it with similar press a skill perform an act gameplay.
If I had to pick one; WAR.
