Computing / Gaming Company?

Hey everyone, I have a project for my ap government class to shadow a person in a career or industry that you are looking into.  I am really interested in either something with Computer Science and programming or like programming for a game or software company.  I live in Northern Virginia an wonder if anyone knows of a company where I wouldn't have to travel too far to get to.  Any help you could give would be possible.  I have already asked many of my teachers and others with little to no suggestions.  A couple people have said I should go see Lockeed Martin (it's literally like 5 mins away from my house), yet they told me to go to hell lol.  Anyway, any help you could give would be awsome, thanks.

Mythic is pretty close.  There is also the e3 committee in fairfax.  I think Simutronics is also in that region.  You can always shadow a professor at Virginia Tech. Then there is the FBI in Quantico.

  • There are an ass ton of CS companies in NOVA.  I think its the 4th largest center in the US.  Just throw a rock and you will hit one.

Just don't shadow the ones that do government contracting or you may become prematurely jaded...

For gaming specifically you have Mythic in Reston and Bethesda (Oblvion) in, well, Bethesda.  Probably a number of others too.
