an exceptional mmofps?

There's another thread about character skill based games (strength, dex, Levels, etc), I'm more into player skill based games, where you use reflexes, aim, etc instead of levels..  and I've been looking for a new game to play that is player skill based... I've been playing PlanetSide and I like it, and will keep playin it, but something new would be fun too.  I guess most player-skill based mmos are MMOFPS games, I seem to like those more than mmorpg style level-up games.

Anyways... I'll try and start off a list, so someone else might find a game they like... but I'll also put the cons of the game (mostly why I'm not playing it anymore)

Neocron - ~10% player-skill (aim)... ~90% character-skill (levels) - stopped playing because of the "Neocron 2" add-on that added a lot of things I didn't like.

Endless Ages - ~40% player-skill (aim)... ~60% character-skill (levels and race) - stopped playing because the PvP was very imbalanced (the 'tank' race, Bloblics, basically have nuke launchers that you cannot dodge).

GunZ: The Duel - ~60% player-skill (aim/tactics)... ~40% character-skill (levels and weapons) - still play every once in a while, but there is a "playstyle" called K-Styling which basically exploits bad game mechanics, and to compete, you have to use it as well... gets old... and it's overrun by hackers.

PlanetSide - ~90% player-skill (aim)... ~10% character-skill (amount of certifications) - still play, pretty fun..

Face of Mankind - ~10% player-skill (aim)... ~90% character-skill (levels) - i don't like the super unrealistic PvP

Please add.... I'd love to find a game where I can fight someone using my own skill instead of my characters level, and isn't overrun by hackers and/or exploits

    Soldat --> www.soldat.pl

    DO NOT look at the screenshots, just download and play

    It's totally skill based, no lvl/ranks or whatever. I'm training with knife at the moment, it's hilarious

  • Think you got most of them there except maybe WW2 online.

    Seems like Neocron 2 alienated a lot of people.  But then again there isn't much else out there besides pure FPS like Planetside as your list shows.

    Wait for huxley, from what I can see so far that game is going to blow the MMOFPS genre out of the water.

  • Oh yeah there are also a few sim-like games like Space Cowboy and Jumpgate.  But they aren't necessarily extremely content heavy or new or whatever.  Space Cowboy is free though

    Uhhh... there's no skills/levels in FoM.

    Player skills (aim, reflex)... not character skills (strength, dex)

    and the reason I say there's levels in FOM is because there are still guns that your guy just "isn't smart enough to use" unless you 'do missions' (level grind) which is the exact same thing as basing combat on levels. (i.e. level 50 beats a level 1)
