Only in Vanguard would someone earnestly post a request for the level cap to be 1000, requiring "7 days a week, 12 hours a day, about 3 years to max out" and "if you play 4 hours a week you are not going to ever reach the top, well tough".
Yes, I know that lots of people in the forum disagree with him. But their disagreement is very soft, as if the proposal wasn't outrageously insane. Yet more evidence of the casual-unfriendly atmosphere being generated in Vanguard at the community and game mechanics level.

Max level in years (tough luck casuals)
I am sorry to all those that want to play the game 3 hours a week and still max out their character but in no way should any new game coming out have anything but an epic trip to the maximum level. I was reading a thread asking what the main flaw in EQ was and the only thing I can think of that totally screwed up the game was the massive mudflation and huge leaps in power through each expansion destroying previous content and wrecking the feel of the world due to original Norrath feeling like a joke on return trips due to it's trivialisation.
Why create a game where expansions are required at all as a way of creating new level goals? If a game is made from the start with the proper amount of levels and exp requirements to reach the top then no expansion would ever need to raise the limit, they would strictly add new content of the same levels as before due to the fact noone will be reaching the top any time soon.
My thought is that it should take a person working exp hardcore for 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, about 3 years to max out to the top level. Make 1000 levels or more if that is what it takes to get the proper time scale before people start maxing out. Now of course this means if you play 4 hours a week you are not going to ever reach the top, well tough.
There can be many things to do before the top level, unlike EQ. There can be raids with lower levels in mind, hunting can actually be fun unlike the EQ camp fests that felt more like work. The game can be enjoyed on the journey, not only after you max out such as EQ. This is all in the development, if a game is not fun until you are the maximum level then the game has been built wrong. But if you build a game where virtually anyone can get to the maximum level in a years time you are going to end up with all the headaches EQ had and be forced to start the endless level-based expansions that inevitably destroy the world.

In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
Not so nice guy!
and yet on the wow forums you have casuals who think they deserve the best item in the game simply by logging in and saying "hi i want the best item in the game."
seriously dude, if you dont like vangaurd, fine, dont play it. however, your repeated mis-informed anti-vangaurd propaganda posts are very old at this point. I'll just ask you this: How long have you played Vangaurd to make all these claims Jonaku?
oh wait, you haven't played a single minute, nor from your posts have you spent any time at all reading their faq's or information posts. "core-gamer" is not HARDcore-gamer. Casual is a Casual gamer, someone who plays for an hour at a time. You, like many WoW'ers think Casual is anyone not in an uber-raid guild and that you deserve everything at the drop of a hat. All i can say is, then go play wow.
Some of us LIKE a challenge. Some of us LIKE epic-quests that take weeks or months to finish. Some of us LIKE having to figure things out instead of simply having it handed to us on a platter.
Now, I know you will either ignore this, or come up with more misconcieved and untrue "facts" to counter it. thats fine.
However, i do have a second question to ask you. Since you hate this game SOOOOOO much (having never played it) why do you continue to troll this forum? i can think of several answers to this. you are either just a bitter argumentative person, who isnt quite right in the head, or, you are one of those people who are paid to make posts on these forums. Probably hired out by a competing company. so your either nuts, or its your job to spread misleading propaganda. your choice as to which you admit.
