Hehe, Spathotan you need to get a sqeeze ball or a punching with SOE stenciled on it...err, wait, a dart board with Ken Kutaragis' picture on it!

The PS3 is gonna fuckin' rock and everyone is gonna love it...'cept for you and Meon! It's gonna be a lonely, frustrating, not-fun world for you Sony haters.

Every thing I said was true...The Blu-Ray disc player will retail for $1,000. - $600. for the PS3 = an automatic $400. profit! Not to mention the fact that the Cell processor is far more powerful than anything that either intel or AMD will produce in the next 4-6 years! Now, if that weren't bad enough, what most people don't know  about the PS3 is that I can connect all the Cell processors in my house via WiFi...

Cell based PDAs, Cell phones, my Toshiba SED display, (And I'm betting that Sony will be producing add-on Cell nodes) all slaved to my PS3s...and a vast network of millions upon millions upon millions of Cell processors!! This capability will enable spooky-smart AI and realtime photorealistic raytracing; in other words, MMOGs that are, at least, an order of magnitude superior to anything the PC MMOG makers will ever be able to produce!

The PS3 is going to stomp the guts out of the PC game industry...Adapt or die, that is the law.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's funny.

    I'd like to see how buying a PS3 gives you a 400 $ profit. That's like saying:

This car costs 2 millions. If I buy this car for 1 million, I've earned 1 million! HOLY SHIT I'M SMART.

Before the PS3 can have it's hardware replaced, it's not going to take over the PC. And when that day happens, the PS has turned into a pc, with equavalent prices.

There is nothing a PS3 can that a PC can't.

Although the ps2 was my first console, and have upcoming games like GoW2 I would pick the wii mainly because of ps3 high price.

Everyone complains about the high price of the PS3, but I think the extra power you get from the machine is well worth it. Every game that is out for all 3 consoles will always be better on PS3, simply because it is such a powerful system.

Pc's are getting to be so expensive I can't keep up as a student. So I will be getting a PS3, which will be about the same price as a video card nowadays.

Like most Sony products, my PS2 died.  It took two years (I was amazed it lasted that long after warranty) for it to crap out.

Therefore, that PS2 was the last Sony product I'll ever buy again.

I have you beat. I had 2 PS2's die on me in 9 months, both were brand new.

    lol..

    Nice

I've had the XboX for a while now and I've been pretty happy with it.  Therefore, I'm going to go out and get the 360 next week.  I'm VERY interested in getting Obilivion.

My Xbox died like a few months ago... but I'll be (finally) getting the 360 this week.

Ive had my Gamecube since it came out, 5 years ago I supose. It took about 50 falls off a 3 foot high dresser onto a hardwood floor to kill it.

I've had a ps2 since release, still havn't had a problem. I guess I've just been lucky. On the the topic at hand...

The ps3 promised too much at the beginning, that was where their problem started. Since then they have had to make cuts on the hardware, raise the price and extend the release time. If I were to go out and buy a console after the release of all three was complete I would be getting the xbox, moslty because I would want to have to use xfire on a ps and the nintendo party style games have never been my cup of tea.

One of the main things that bugs me about the Wii is that there will probably be some games, if not a large portion of them, where you will HAVE to be standing up to play them (where the motion sensitivity will require any sort of wide swing you can't accomplish sitting down in a chair).  While I don't mind standing up to play a game, it's always nice to be able to come home after a long day, plop down in a comfortable chair, lean back and play an hour or two of games without having to exert any real energy.

Oh well, at least maybe the Wii will help solve obesity in America.

    Yeah right...

If you guys think power is better. Let me remind you that it's not the power of the console, it's what game that will take advantage of that power. The advantage will most likely be graphics over gameplay. Just becuase a console has more power dosn't mean it wins. The console wars haven't even begun yet. 360 has an army growing strong and PS3 and Wii is enlisting. It's not the system that delivers, it's the games.

if i get anythin itll be the xbox 360 or wii. ive given up on sony cause all most all their games have worse grahpics than mario 64 and zelda oricina of time on n64. if i get the wii itll only be for the zelda games and maybe some of of the mario games. the xbox will win this round most likly though the wii in with a good chance. sony and its ps3 will faill terribly cause the realease price is blloody $1000 arounds . the ps3 isnt even anything as good as wii or xbox360 from wat ive heard from my cousin(he electronic crazy soo he knows almost everything about the new consoles.
anyone planin to a buy a ps3 is going to waste thier money and r completly . i will say that some games that were realesed firstly by sony r pretty good like the spyro and crash bandicoot games. the ratchet and clank games are good as well and if sony made jak and daxter then id say they've got some talent but other wise they get other companys games and buy the rights for them. though they do realease some pretty good games beside wat i already mentioned that they've made themselves. if i do get the ps3 which i most likly wont it will only be for the ff games cause they rock.

The PS3 is rediculously expensive. They're trying to make it a PC replacement but that's nearly impossible. I always find myself replacing my own PC every 2 to 3 years, while new consoles come out in about twice that time. Needless to say, the PS3 will be outdated by PCs right after it's release, if it's not already. Plus, developers have said how hard it is to develop games for the PS3. I think that the PS3 will have the best graphics, but it's nothing to top PCs and the games won't necessarily be better. They'll just look better than the other system's. If you're a shallow person who just looks for graphics and you want people to think you're rich, get the PS3.

The XboX 360 is actually looking better in my eyes. When it was released, I only thought "wow this is going to be like a dreamcast, it came out way too early and it's graphics aren't half of the PS3's." Well it turns out, their game library is getting larger and larger, and the games are getting better as well. I think that Microsoft might actually know what the hell they're doing this time around (maybe they should focus on their crappy operating system now), and I think the 360 would be the best balance between graphics, and games.

The Wii is my choice. I have already gone out and pre-ordered the new Zelda. I think Nintendo wins in this race because of the backwards compatability and emulation capabilities of the system. As soon as I get my Wii, I can guarantee you that I'm going to download all of my old-time favorites to play on a real controller. Nintendo will also have a huge game base as soon as it comes out. The revolutionary control system is also very cool, but I see how some people think that it would get annoying after a while. With the huge game base right off the bat, the ability for me to play the SNES version of Zelda, and with the low low price, the Wii is the winner hands down (Well, for me at least). I understand that the graphics really are just about the same as the GC though, but I'll rely on my PC to please my eyeballs.

Okay, so the Wii is $250, right? Well, that depends on how you look at it. It's constantly touted as a console for the whole family, a system built around multiplayer. But it only comes with one controller. If you want all four members of your family playing, the system in fact costs $430. If you want to play any games for the Virtual Console, you have to buy that controller separately, too, and I'll be generous and guess that brings it to $450. That doesn't even count the $5-$10 for EACH game you download from the VC. You can go buy most of the actual cartridges in a bargain bin for less than that.

And what are you really paying for? Mario and Zelda with a motion-sensitive controller. That's innovation? Motion-sensitive hardware has been around for years, and Mario and Zelda are nothing new, to say the least. The whole system is nothing but rehashes of things Nintendo knows will sell. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Brothers, Call of Duty 3. They're even buying other people's successful franchises, like Guitar Hero and (possibly) GTA. The most original things it has to offer are something like Red Steel. A first person shooter-- with swords! Brother, the future is here.

Contrast this with Sony, who, if the consumer response is any indication, is taking an enormous risk. They may not be the big innovaters, either, but despite what you may believe, they're doing exactly what you want. For years, most of you have been going out and lapping up something like Halo or Madden or Grand Theft Auto, ignoring the truly original titles. What original titles were there, you say? I say: exactly. You've been telling Sony (whether you realize it or not) that what you want is the same crap with the best possible graphics, and now they're giving it to you. Unfortunately, the nature of technology is that high performance = high price. Time to sleep in the bed you've made.

Ironically, the most impressive one of the bunch is the one I hated most for its laziness last time around, the Xbox. They really seem to have learned from their mistakes, especially the one about having almost no variety in the titles you release. Unfortunately, it has to overcome a lot of prejudice, and the quality of its library still has a while to go, so while it may sell a lot in the U.S., it's bombed hard core in Japan, and that'll probably keep it out of first place this generation. I'm looking forward to the generation after this. I'm thinking MS will really have their act together by then.

If you buy a Wii at launch, you're an idiot. I won't even try to soften that with "it's just my opinion." It's not. If you truly think what Nintendo is doing is innovation, or, maybe worse, if you don't really care and just want that new Zelda, you are not a smart gamer or a smart consumer. Give Sony some credit; they're practically killing themselves, thinking they're doing the right thing, whether they are or not. Their game lineup sucks compared to the Xbox because they haven't even put their hardware out yet. Already, at places like the TGS, people are seeing games outside the launch window and thinking, "Well, maybe I was too hard on them." I'm no fanboy; I own a Gamecube and a GBA. But you gotta see these companies for what they are, for better or for worse.
