It depends on how you define heaven.
What do you mean by heaven? The Christian heaven?

Scientologists beleive heaven is being wisked away on a spaceship dont they ? :)

      Islam obviously.

Reincarnation doesnt mean theres no "heaven" since its the beleif that through enlightment you can ascend to another plane or something :)

A lot of people get mad at me on these boards when I say stuff like I'm about to say, and it always seems to be a hot topic for people to flame me in my beliefs, but here's something I hope will comfort you.

Religion should not cause you fear and loathing.  It should not use guilt and threats to persuade you to act a certain way.  Religion should guide you down a unique path towards your own relationship with our creator.  It should not cause you to dislike or feel anger towards others for their beliefs.  And it should not compel you to force your beliefs on others.  It should instead motivate you to learn from others (and that includes observing others trailing a path that is not right for you and you being free to head the other direction without guilt).  And it should give you a feeling of connection with the maker of all existence.

Take organized religions for what they are.  They're man made systems used to push people a certain way.  And they've become conformity machines that strip the individuality of thought from their followers.  Question everything because that is part of growing.  And if you can't find a religion that is right for you, then focus on spirituality.  Borrow from each religion what you find takes you closer to peace with yourself and others.

Oh, and btw, Buddhists believe in nirvana which could be a definition of heaven.

Just be very careful about people who tell you they have the one way to travel on your trip.  They can be quite persuasive because they take advantage of certain human traits present in all of us and use them to their advantage (i.e. guilt, fear, conformity, belonging).  Some do it unknowingly because that is the way they have been taught.  So don't be angry with them, just understand them and turn the other way.  Someday hopefully they will find their freedom and discover their path.

Pretty much every single religion in existance has a form of heaven in one way or the other. One of the few exceptions is that of the ancient egyptians, in which instead of heaven, you get to be reborn as an immortal back on earth if your good and were buried properly.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

    Not mine.

    We have reincarnation.

You're reborn as something different that from what you were.

So if you were a "good" human, you'll be reborn back into the creature ( you can't be a human twice in a row ) of your choice.

And if you were bad, the gods and goddesses decide for you. And it's normaly pretty bad, like a roach. :d

Death itself is heaven. Just listen for a sec:

    1. People go on vacation to relax, right? What is relaxation (not recreation)? Relaxing is taking it easy, sitting down to: read a book, take a nap, etc...
    2. People hate work right? (Please use generalizations) Nobody wants to be stuck in a cubicle, hunched over a desk, exerting themselves out in the sun all day, working their fingers to the bone, and all that.
    3. Hell is something we all hate, agreed?
    4. Heaven is something everyone would like to induge in. What kind of person doesn't like taking a nap after a hard day's work? Who doesn't enjoy having a drink and reading a kickass book?
    5. Death is essentially taking a huge nap. Everyone's heard the metaphor "endless slumber" or whatever.

    ...so:

    A. People hate work and people hate hell, so could there be something in common between hell and hard work?
    B. People love relaxing and people would love being in heaven. Is there something in common?
    C. Death releases you from all of your responsibilities and worries, and you are so completely relaxed and carefree that you no longer sustain your life. You may possibly reach this nirvana-esque point in the instant before you die.

    Death is heaven.

More along the lines of the OPs question: All religions have some form of heaven in one way or another.

Politicians have a similar effect during elections as well...

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

    This is silly.

"Heaven" is not a relative term.  It's the "Christian" paradise.  If you want to go there..then guess what, you pretty much have to be Christian.  I think you're just asking for a "paradise-esque afterlife" which (in my opinion) is a very poor reason to get into any religion.  When I became religious, it wasn't so I could peddle myself into some "heaven" due to some irrational fear of my inevitable death, but because I wanted to change my LIFE.  It should be about living, not dying.  Meh, do what you want however.  I suggest a "religious" dartboard, with all the religions you are considering converting to.  That way, you can have fun, and a slight chance for enlightment.  Woo-hoo.

It's not silly at all. Heaven may have originally been used for the Christian afterlife, but that term is also used by Jews. In fact, the Jews used it before the Christians. Nowadays, heaven IS a loose, relative term. Used anywhere from your experience on a cruise ship, to the taste of an excellent chocolate cake. If you wanna be nitpicky on the use of heaven, go ahead, but be aware you then restrict the context of the conversation. Of course the OP meant heaven to mean eternal paradise, otherwise why ask in the first place? Now, if you believe that Heaven is separate from Nirvana, I must say I disagree. Essentially all monotheistic religions worship the same god, just under different names, thus the paradise this god offers is also identical, yet under different names again. I'm not much of a religious person, but I try to use logic to explain a faith that works for me (aside from scientology). As far as I'm concerned, if you got yourself a monotheistic religion, your heaven is the same as mine.

There are different types of Paradise with every different religion, however i've never seen a better paradise descriotion than that of Islam.

Heh, self delusion for the win. Why do you think most religions were created in the first place? I would say all of them were originally created out of a fear that this life is it, but most will have to do for now.

Dude, I respect your religion, and especcially the message it entails, but you and obsir1 are getting really annoying with this kind of crap.

Heaven or Paradise is an English word for what's up and good.
The Semitic word for Heaven is Jannah.

Most religions were man made, except for 1, The Original Islam, which is what Judiasm and Christianity were about.

First, ob1sr is me, second thing, if you do respect my religion, then please at least have the ability to show it, if it's crap then prove it's crap, at least it's good to have hope, rather than nothingness.
