It really sucked when the devs gave up on Wish, man... the game was so awesome!!
Very very true. I was in the beta as one of the earliest, and allthough it was unplayable for quite a while, that game was awesome !!! So sad it never saw daylight.
yup same here, so fun how you can change the colors of your text and skill spam. with version 7 you can't do that now, i'm slightly disappointed, but skill spamming WAS kinda cheap
id have to say UO. . . . . . . . . . it was most memorable becouse it was first mmo i played let alone beta tested and it seemed like thay lisen to us testers but then again only other mmos ive tested were crap AO SB Daoc last chaos
I'd have to say I can't decide between Motor City Online and Horizons, although if I had to pick, I'd go with Horizons. Both had some of the best communities I've seen in a game, especially Horizons. I was a crafter so working with others in the community to help free that fist race truly showed how great it was. I remember playing MCO on the very last night of the beta just driving around having fun with the little group of friends I had discovered.
The Only Closed beta that I like was WoW ,Guild Wars, City of Heroes, and Asheron Call 2 but these games are now considered older games the newer MMO's that I have tested I really did not prefer to actually purchase them once they where released. I did enjoy testing them but none of them actually have keep my attention long enough for me to change over to them.

i think the best beta i've ever played was daoc closed beta. the feeling was very nice, we all thought that this game would be something completly new and the fact that I was a part of it made me a little bit proud of it. after the clustering, I think, the game is dead now. There are still some ppl. who are playing, but it isn't worth the time anymore.
Best Beta I have ever played was Everquest. From the beginning of beta right to the first 4 months of release were amazing. It was a whole new world. There wasnt any power players, everyone was new to the game. Now a days, most MMORPGs are conquered and exploited within days or weeks. EQ was to me the beginning, everyone was fresh and new.
DAoC was just fun, but AO had a good community sticking it out together; even through all the hell.
BTW, I'd probably say DAoC was the first stable released MMO. Of course that had a lot to do with the fact the actual engine and netcode were developed by a third party.
Face of Mankind, great role play and there was actually a great community of mostly mature people who really did role play. Plus the fps aspects it was a real nice mix.
I remember how we tried to kill the raid boss Ant Queen, everyone on the server was there
good times

The best beta I played in so far would have to be WarRock - I think. Overall it was great; untill it released.
Now it lags real bad and it's alot harder to play. Not to mention there are a bunch of hackers in it now.
