in SWG Veteran Refuge

Is SWG really that bad? That you guys constantly bash it. Its a new game. Yeah its different and things are changed. Lets see you try to manage 30 professions + game content and try to fix bugs and keep adding new content. Its not easy. If anything you should give them credit for what they put into the game. I played the game its really not that bad. I enjoyed it. It was nice being back in the SWG feeling. Yeah they limited the professions but they stated they are going to change/add more to it. Its still a good game. YOU guys need to quit bashing it, If you don't like it than why do you you even talk about it. Whats the point for bashing it? Your not proving anything are you bored or don't have a life. Go do something. Don't ruin the game for the new people they are just trying to have a good time.

SWG is still a good game and always will be.

    So basicly Pro-SWGer's can come here and post their propoganda but people get warned for anti-SWG posts in the pro-SWG section. OP this is the section where us people who currently hate SOE talk and if you dont understand why then I am not going to explain. The endless ammount of things SOE took and replaced with bright shiny objects thinking its fanbase has downsyndrome or something because thats the only people I think could enjoy such a bogus game.

    Even after they dumbed it down and removed so much stuff the game is still filled with bugs and SOE devs just keep lieing through their teeth. If SWG wasnt tiedinto the station pass I really think it would be shut down or reverted to classic servers.

             WTF , The station pass in guiding you in this matter??? Then you are one of the Lost Sheep of SOE stupidity. SOE loves you for it.

    ( Post 1000 , 1k is 600 more then players on most SWG servers at prime time - yeah baby!)

    I must agree that I find it odd "they" can come over here and spread their agitprop while "we" cannot say Boo in their forum.

    OP sorry but you live in dream land or never played Pre-CU or CU the NGE is a joke nothing more a cheap ass WOW (which is also crap) copy with a star wars skin on it.

    Go back to school as you obviousley about 12 and like that lame ass idiot proof game they call the NGE

    Its simple OP, the game was fun, bugged sure, but fun nonetheless.   Now, its completely unplayable and since they have stolen our passtime without compensation we bash them.  Which part is confusing you hun?  If need be, I will be glad to go over it again with you....

    THe game took a turn for the worse after publish 9:

    The original pre-9 system worked like a charm until soe messed it up in publish 9. (only thing i would remove was the perma death, everything else was perfect)

    The old system allowed many many many people to have jedi, but at the same time it seemed like no one had a jedi. 

    you ask why?

    Because: The lightsaber TEF kept the jedi from being too powerful over normal players, and it kept the jedi from walking around towns with their saber turned on. If they did turn their saber on they would be instantly attacked by many players, and this is good because they are supposed to be in hiding and not walking around cities showing on jedi moves.

    And this is how the original trilogy was too, jedi were a rare sight, so having it the same way in the game made the jedi sort of mysterious, you didn't know who was a jedi and who wasn't. Jedi had to stay out side of towns if they wanted to fight show off their saber, or do it in a back alley where no npc/player was was watching. (I found roleplaying a jedi is way more fun when you actually have to be in hiding) Not having combat levels also added to the mysteriousness of a jedi. I remember my jedi, and how i was a super low lvl guy with no skills hardly, but i pretended to be a super powerful maximum lvl jedi to a full template rifleman. He didn't even attack.

    Alpha classes can be in a MMO you just have to do it the right way. Unfortunatly SOE did it the wrong way.

    How is the op trolling ?He simply asked what motivates all the bashing SWG receives . He didn't come in and start flaming , Or attempting to cause problems . Yet if you look around who are all the flames being posted by ?

    SWG is still a good game and always will be.
    I just love this excuse..... Basically its ok that a game is released unfinished, borked, or bugged all to hell. That is fine. This is the only area of mass media or production where we as consumers allow this kind of thing.

    Tim, if these developers were roofers, and they built a roof in the condition of SWG.....They would still be serving time in prison.

    So we should let SOE/LEC get away with the way they treated the community? Just let them go on like nothing happened so other game companies will see this as acceptable? Until they are punished we will always be around making sure no one ever forgets. As long as we keep going no other game company will be as foolish as to try to pull a fast one like SOE/LEC did.

    I think what was being said is if we posted in the Pro SWG forum asking why people like the current version, we get warned.. yet its ok for that side to come in here and do the same wiht no action taken...

    It is a new game, and it's 1/32nd of the game it once was. Did Pre-CU have it's issues sure, but the game was still fun. This NGE thing is not fun for me, nor many others. It is a shell of the glory that SWG used to be. The problem is that SOE thinks that the Star Wars name will automatically bring them huge money no matter what they put into the game, so they started nickel and diming it, and now they have liek 5 devs working on it, and that is why they did it because they are too busy with EQ and their new DC game, they think SWG will just automatically be the highest populated game, and well they were, and are wrong. They needed to cultivate it. They tried to run a 400 acre ranch with 5 people, and were shocked when parts of it wilted.

    I agree with OP. SWG is a nice game, and yes there is alot of bugs. But in general, all MMORPG had ton of bugs, no one can point a MMORPG without them, matter of fact, it is impossible to make a game without bugs. SWG has a nice SW feeling, JTL is a great addon. Not many other game have this kind of features as in SWG. as for here EVE is rated highest, but EVE has also alot of bugs. many people here on morg.com is hard hardcore players who think they own the rights to judge and be judgements. Many people here dont even represent the broad playergroup, they a a small hardcore fanatic group who make a life out of playing mmorg.

    who have the right to say what is right or what is wrong in a mmorpg ? Maybe the hardcore group is really wrong, they represent a small base, statisticly they should be wrong.

    SWG has alot other game dont have, if you like SW you defenetly like SWG online.

    SWG has alot of bugs like all other game.

    If that were true, SWG would be more populated now than it used to be.

    And how can you have hardcore entertainers, crafters and creature handlers?

    Play the game, have fun. Just don't try to justify NGE as a good choice. Bugs? Bugs are relative. When you're competing with UO, bugs are acceptable. When you're competing with KOTOR, bugs are unacceptable. When you're competing with WoW, bugs don't exist. The only question in that case is, how many millions did you spend on polishing a finished game.

    BTW, towards end of last year, SWG had around 2.5 million bug tickets filed.

    OK, I play CoH/CoV and they have over 100 powersets, somewhat equilivant to the old profession system in SWG, but alot more of them.  They also have over 50 sub sets, and are introducing about 12 new sets within the coming year.  What's so hard about it?

     Because we all remember how great it was before.  If it had stayed the same I wouldn't have discovered CoH and would be perfectly happy, because in all reality I love Star Wars much more than Comics.  But my online games have diverted my dedication from Lucas to Comics.

     The significance of you saying, "It's not that bad" in a previous paragraph proves to all of us that the game is still that bad, you've just come to enjoy what they've fed you and deal with it.  It's like when you start feeding a dog steak, you raise him on eating steak, and then one day you start feeding him dog food.  Well, after enough time, he'll eventually decide he has to eat what you gave him or starve.  Difference is, most of us have learned to hunt (i.e. found other MMO's to play)  And while you sit in the dog house eating processed beef flavored soybean balls, the rest of us are out here eating rabbit.  Yea it's not steak, but hey, it's better than that shit you're eating.

    Ive had a few girlfriends, some id like to talk to again and some i wouldnt (reasons for breaking up withstanding)

    out of all of them though, one in particular, id take back right away, without a blink, and care.

    SWG is that girlfriend for me, id take her back, if she came back. Pre-CU servers would do me fine.

    So of course most guys talk crap of their EX's. But that special ex will always find a way in their hearts.

    (but....if she cheated on me...[swg=ex girlfriend].... would i still take her back........f*%3 it, i would take her back if only for the sex)

    What would give you the idea that we represent the SMALL base?

    Is it how we represent over 2/3 of the previous population?
