So is there anything new with the 9th Anniversary Edition? I don't see them attracting too many new players at this point, especially with a version that doesn't add anything new. It seems like they are just trying to milk more cash from their loyal supporters.

I know when i see the box in the store, it'll be tempting to buy it.  But why would I?  Nothin new...I think I'll wait for the graphics redo...maybe.  UO needs a whole makover....maybe let mythicEA play around with it a bit.

Right now its just there 9th anniversary box , it includes all expansions up to this point , it's a good deal ($20) for a returning player and those who like all the pixel crack gifts( another good thing for a returning player sell the gifts and get yourself a good start on gold hording) ,if you haven't played in the last few years theres would be alot of new stuff,  the graphics overhaul expansion isnt coming out til next year.

Yeah, I'm tempted to pick this up, but I think we should wait to see how the "real" next expansion does. The game's lifespan seems really up in the air at this point.

Alot of UO's future depends on if EA cancels the new(major) expansion like they have in the past (uo2 , uox , ect).
I personally think the current dev team has done a great job , UO today is alot better than it was 1-2 years ago ,still not as glourious as the first few years.There biggest problem right now is PVP and factions aren't really fun or balanced , but I think now that mythic is there helping out , these areas will be fixed soon.

Seeing that this edition also has 2 new house tiles sets, I already pre ordered mine. I love doing my houses and it will be a nice new change.

This 9th Edition was not made to get people back to UO. That is what they are trying with the 10th UO:KR edition :P

And look at all the Rare Items you get as gift...wow. I love this add on

I really do not find it milking at all. This is a really good AddOn to tie us over till next years graphic update. You do not need to buy any of the AddOn to play UO so people who like the new graphic will buy it, otherwise you don't. Simple as that. In Germany it will most likely be released at the same date as in the US. I buy all my mmorpg's here:

I resuscribed after a couple years, all my characters were gone. 

If a game can't keep a few characters around that pretty much tells you they don't want veterans back

So don't bother if you have been gone for awhile, if they think I am starting over they are nuts.
