Is Archlord a 2 year old game in Korea?

StewkerStewker Member Posts: 35

The subject line sets up what I'm asking here. Its a simple set of questions and I would like a simply answer please.

1. Has Archlord been out in Korea for 2 years? As I have heard.

2. Is the version of Archlord that Codemasters is publishing the same version that Korea is playing now, just with text translated?  IE one of the newest versions with 2 years of patching behind it?

3. If that is true, why is the english version so buggy and have so many things wrong with it?

4. Or is the English version, the original code of the game, and doesn't have any patches that have been implemented in Korea over the possible 2 prior years?

I'm asking these questions because I don't understand how the game is so bugged if it is 2 years old as many people have said on many forums. In the process of translating it did many of these bugs get put in unintentionally? Do Koreans just not mind playing a game for 2 years with things still not working as they should?

Archlord Kr was borned in June, 2005. (not beta but retail)

Because of game being too buggy, they lost all customers.

NHN didn't even try to fix bug(not sure about that) well they didn't for sure and they created another game (huge title and will not mention it here) and basically people move to that game. lol

NHN's left over server(3total) was 8 servers before, is filled with fanboys/girls who's waiting for revive of AL. I'm pretty sure they will move to US server....

CM is PUSHING NHN to fix bugs with force. (It seems that was deal bewteen NHN and CM)

If bugs gets fixed before launch like CM promissed (look AL beta forum) This game will be most likely success,

If bugs exist after game go gold, this game will fail.

Seem like they are pushing back release of this game, so I believe CM is doing their best.

    No, about 1 year

No, its has some minor changes. biggest one is that Archlord US/EU doesn't have a cash shop, and I think the XP rate's and drop rates are diffrent as well.

    3. If that is true, why is the english version so buggy and have so many things wrong with it?

The beta version indeed has quite some bugs, but not many "gamebreaking" and I expect most of them to be fixed before retail, the reason there are still so many bugs is because we run on a diffrent client and server software then the korean version. as with most korean mmo's. many think the EU/US client of the game is simply a copy/paste with some translations slapped on it, which is simply not true.

    4. Or is the English version, the original code of the game, and doesn't have any patches that have been implemented in Korea over the possible 2 prior years?

The game is fully up to date with the korean version (or at least I think so, it could be we are one patch behind)

Also wormstla, NHN games is currently not developing other MMORPG's, they are merely hosting some games. they recently opened a US service with games like Gunbound (yes, another gunbound), Golf, things like that

I didn't say they are working on other game now, but back in June 2005, when Al was released, they were focusing on other mmorpg instead of Al which is this:

    http://r2.hangame.com/data/movie.nhn

MMORPG R2 currently run by hangame published by NHN.

NHN is not just one small 3rd rated company who made Archlord, but they are one of the most succesful game making company in korea w/ huge hit one after one.

If you guys know Kartrider... u know what i'm talking about.
