LOL you get to level 10 through simple quests in no time actually.  Game is a grind I admit, but it's actually fun.  Important to not make a gimped char however, so if anyone plans to play they should read the forums :)

It's an interesting game, was in the closed beta...the thing that needs fixing is the camera angles.

Apparently you can tweak the camera angels.  The PKO site forums have details on that.

I just got bored with it.   Same old same old

I used to visit this site a lot however in recent years it has become the home of negative forum posts, illogical opinions and tantrums so I visit less often.

    Played or Beta'd: UO / DAOC / Horizons / EQ2 / DDO / EVE / Archlord / PirateKingsOnline / Tabula Rasa / LOTRO / AOC / Champions / Darkfall / Mortal Online / DCUO / Rift / STO / SWTOR / TSW

I am a bit suprised to see someone quit at level 3. Since if you follow the newbie quests you can get to level 5 in less then ten minutes it does not sound like they should be playing this gendre of games.

The game does have a lot of grinding in it, if you decide you want to powerlevel up instead of doing the quests. Grinding will level you faster then questing after the first few levels. But there are quests to do. There is a major storyline to follow as well.

I have played anime games before, and this one seems much better then most of them. Plus the game will be free upon release.

Quit the game , it is just a grind, nothing more.  The crafting skills are shoddy at best. Raising their levels does nothing.  End game areas are pretty much for hardcore gamers only.  Was fun for a while but it will wear you down.

Yep just quit the game, its pointless to play. Just a grind. No content. No storyline.

1.Character builds are pretty much set unless you want to end up gimped. All you have to do is follow the character builds from the china or taiwan servers.

2.Mazes are a gankfest and there ain't many mazes to choose from. And since the world map is not that big either (you can travel the whole map in 1 hour)

3.Guild wars are bugged at the moment, giving a default win to the incumbent guild, which would increase the wealth of the incumbent guild substantially before they fix it.

4.No safeguard against hacks. Easier than hacking Diablo 2. Its easy to bot with a packet sender as the packets are not encrypted. Last I heard, no plans to implement any as well. They are depending on the grassroots level to report botting.

5.The pecking order for 1v1 PVP is pretty much determined as well. Crusader, Champion would be top 2. Voyager, Sealmaster, Hunter would take bottom 3. The ranking is pretty much this order as well.

6.GMs ingame aren't that professional as well. Expected since the GMs are either volunteers or employees from a cybercafe.

7.There isn't much of an economy system. Theres not much money sinks in place. Good luck trying to visit Argent City nowadays with all the clustered vendors.

Its pretty much like El Kardian or Dark Ages? (anyone remember that? It was another singapore mmorpg). I give it a lifespan of 2 year tops. Good luck to those spending their money on the item mall. My opinion is that its a hit and run operation. But then maybe thats a valid marketing strategy since an average gamer nowadays won't stay with an mmorpg beyond 2 years.

Think I'm going to just go back to the old tried and tested mmorpgs... You really get what you pay for. Subscribing to a good mmorpg really is worth it.

Well it depends on what ganre of games you like, to start with. If your into action packed games then go for MMOFPS games or just FPS games. If you like going on adventures and long quest then MMORPG or RPGs are the suitable choice for you. I wasnt suprised someone quited at level 3. Perhaps he isnt into anime/cartoon style of MMORPGs.

Well to me the game itself is a nice game. The fact that there isnt much free MMOs makes it nicer. Also considering this is a pirate game, since there isn't much, makes unique because its an anime style game. The game has a lot of classes you can choose. The Newbie Guide thing really helps a lot. 5 minutes is all it takes to cover the basic things in the game. And also you people who said you dislike this game, keep in mind its still in BETA. So my hopes were they put more effort in gameplay and graphics because the graphics are just over passable. The game play is ok but im sure could be better.

    Peace

For a Free MMO, this is quite a suprising game.

I made a Hunter and played him until level 20. The quest system is not that bad, it's pretty much like World of Warcraft where you gather stuff, kill a certain amount of mobs or then again, bring a package to someone. The graphics are cute and the game is not that all buggy, the devs are doing a good job at fixing the issues per day.

If you have a few buddies to play with, then it's a good time waster. The quests are not actually interesting but short enough for a casual player. The class system is nice but it's a bit sad to see that no matter what they say, you cannot build a character the way you might want. If you do not copy a solid template then your character will be weak and wasted.

I expected the sea to better then what it is at the moment. This is maybe the beta but still, the sea was really something I was looking for. Sadly, you have nothing to do on the sea except grinding and travelling from one island to another. I could be wrong... (I hope I am)

I haven't tried crafting something but from what I am seing, it's pretty decent. Don't expect the same depth as SWG or DAOC though.

The game is based on Grinding but for some reason, I had alot of fun with my Hunter.

The most silly part of the game is: Each class is specific to a gender/race. So a female character can be a healer while a male cannot >_<

If you have nothing to play, this is not a bad download :)

Well one of the problems is how wasted the sea areas are.  You do 90% of your gaming on land, and for a pirate game thats just retrded. You only use the sea for the crappy salvaging skill, a quest once in a while or to get to a special high level areas.

    hahaha, that's true!

Well my first sea experience was not actually fun... I had no idea how to oriente myself so I sailed for over an hour only to get destroyed by a Blue Mermaid :/

So it was a nice 2 hours of money grinded lost...

The second trip was better but still bad.. I ended up on a island shaped like a heart.. The NPC on the port killed me instantly! Fun times :P
