High school was immature and dull. The teachers were uninspiring. It didn't allow me to pursue classes and subjects I was interested in. There are people who actually take their GED's early in high school because they are smart and want to skip those 3 years of tedium and go straight to college. It isn't always about not completing something. Sometimes it's about advancing your timeline to complete something.
I 100% agree with you.
However, it's one thing to drop out to go to college early and it's another to drop out so that you can get a girl that you like to talk to you.
If a person wants to drop out of High School and get a GED, why drop out of High School. That is like me droping out of the Ninja Acadimy and they will call me a pussy. Droping out of High School dosen't go well for everyone. I don't see how your parents let you go. I loved school and if I ever did that my parents would kick me out.
Now SAT is somthing I don't agree with. I don' agree with you droping out of school Kuzzle even though I predicted this since you started posting here. I don't think a girl will go for a dropout...unless you got money. Well man I wish you luck and don't screw up. It can go good for you if you join the military though like Razorback.
About not being able to get into a good college without a high school diploma: Totaly false. Colleges care much more about prerequesite classes than they do a piece of paper that says "i went to school for four years" I could have a high school diploma from the best high school in the nation, and if I don't have a particular math class, most public colleges simply will not accept me. On the other hand, if I only had a GED but had taken all of my prereq classes at a community college, then I could easily get into a good college. It's all about prerequesite classes.
But again, I don't know what your plans are, but it's not as though you have no chance for success.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Interpersonal skills might be important, but the question still arises... Who gets hired? Person A: No High School Diploma, great interpersonal skills. Person B: Master's in (fill in the blank), great interpersonal skills.
Having good "people skills" and having a college degree aren't mutually exclusive. Yes, you can succeed in life with no piece of paper, but that piece of paper raises your chance of success a helluva lot.
I dropped out of public highschool in 11th grade, then took up homeschooling and completed 11th grade. Then I took my GED and I've been in college ever since. I wouldn't encourage anyone to drop out of highschool unless they're having serious problems. BUT as long as you work hard at what you're interested in and help others as well as yourself to have a good life, then what does it matter?
I find it funny when I see (and I've done this myself before) junior-high or highschool students getting discouraged over poor grades on tests and large amounts of homework. In 20 years, who's going to care? Is that F on your biology test going to keep you from getting a solid career as an engineer or a self-employed artist? Part of highschool is developing the responsibility in life to work hard and make a good living. If you do that, you'll probably be better off than someone who slacks off and gets a 4.0. The person with the 4.0's just going to have the better credentials - but that only gets them the job; it doesn't help them keep it.
I'm currently looking into several training programs, and I'm also looking into UAA, which, unfortuneately, is the largest college in Alaska.
Another bit of advice - or rambling. Check out as many scholarship programs and grants as you possibly can. In my three years of college, I haven't had to pay one penny out of my own pocket yet(and that's good, because I couldn't afford to for very long). Even if you're not elligible for scholarships, still fill out the information and send away for them. You might get mail about grants from time to time where you have to fill out a Thank You Letter for like $100 or something. That takes like 5 minutes. Seriously, it'll probably be the best money you ever make in your life - 5 mins for $100. Check out scholarship programs that are sponsered by your schools and the state you reside in. Try to be a permanent resident of the state that you want to go to college in also (otherwise you might not be elligible for that state's scholarships). When you fill out the application for the college you want to apply to, fill out even the stuff that doesn't seem important (your ethnicity, male, female, etc.) because some of that stuff may be taken into account when people consider you for grants. Also, if you're unsure of whether you won't be accepted at one college, then fill out many different applications and send them away to all the colleges that would be second, third, or even fourth in mind.
Come to think about it, I've got to start filling out some applications of my own since I'm going to be a transfer student next year... Well, hope that helped.
Edit: Look at the deadline for acceptance of applications to the schools you're looking toward going to. Send away the application as soon as you can. You might need to have your highschool and/or college transcripts sent to the potential college as well.

I can't give you advice regarding your future, just make sure you do what makes you happy. I know many many many many people making 6 figures and are never happy. They are tied 60 hours a week to a job they hate and are trapped by their life style (Big house, SUV, Wife n Kids who they hate, and other materialistic BS).
I'm pursuing what makes me happy and I am finding ways to make it work. I am currently pursuing a Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have made friends with a tenured profession who is head of the teachers' Union and he is looking out for me (I want to go into teaching at a college level). I have a secondary option in a cousin's husband who is a manager at a mental facility.
Life is 20% what you know and 80% who you know. It's sad but true.
Now you sound like you don't make friends easy, well neither do I. You just need to make sure you make some contacts that can help you professionally.

It may be meaningless, but have fun explaining the fact that you lost motivation to finish high school at every single job interview you ever go to for the rest of your life.
He won't have to explain that if he went and got a college degree instead. Not too many places would tell a guy "look, you have a college degree, but you never finished high school" College experience always userps high school experience. Because most employers know that you don't actually learn a whole hell of a lot in high school, especially not work skills.

I didn't drop out so she'd talk to me. I put off dropping out so that I could get a chance to talk to her before I left. Not for a really long time, but I made a point of it. And anyway, she started the conversation. It's not like I went up to her and yelled "I'm dropping out!". If I were dropping out to get someone's attention, I'd have to kick my own ass. Hell, I could dislocate my hip trying to pull that one off!
Oh, and to baff: Thankfully. I'd tie my head to someone's bumper and be dragged for a mile before I'd become something that heavily involved with math.

Just get a GED and you're all set. There are GED grads in colleges all over the place. You don't even need a college degree to be successful. You have to define what success truely means for YOU, not anyone else.
Success for some people might be starting their own business that runs 24/7 (vending machines for example) and makes money while they sleep and watch TV, and you don't need a college degree to start a business.
You can start a car detailing business and charge $100-$150 per car that you can clean in an hour or two....that's good money. Then you hire employees and they work for you. It's called passive income and it's the best income anybody can make. hiring employess wouldn't be hard either because there are tons of teens that want jobs but have no experience (so it's hard for them).
I'm not saying that you should start your own business but you should know that you can have a wider definition of what success is than the narrow "Get a good job and make good money" definition that society continues to push. Society seems to forget that happiness has any value. Society seems to link happiness with money aswell. Maybe this is why this world is in such distress.

I'm just starting my 3rd year in University now, before this I spent a year in College to meet the pre-req's, before that a year in University Prep and before that obviously high school including an OAC course. Because of tuition, fees and books, to be able to have even the simple basics in life, food, water, heat, living quarters, I have to work two jobs (sometimes three) and still have almost nothing to show for it. I've estimated that by the time I'm done my fifth year and IF I graduate, I'll have spent 7 years in higher education classrooms and nearly $75,000.00 Cdn. in aquiring a B-Eng that I will most likely not be able to use and or be hired for. Trust me, at this point, the words dropping out are in my every day vocabulary.
